I wasn't sure where to post this but figured the racers would best be able to answer the question

I just ordered an autopower street sport roll bar. Its DOM tubing, 1.75 inches. the guy I talked to on the phone said the cover they sold with it went directly over the bar, and if I put padding I would have to secure it with ties or something. that sounds like it would look horrible (which I know drag strip drivers wouldnt care) but it seems just a cover over bare tube wouldnt look good. Like the tubing would look to skinny. Should i order padding then go to an upholstery shop to get a padding cover made or are there kits sold ow what? yeah....this would be waht you would see on a small boy's bicycle on the middle bar...normally there is a vinyl covering with velco over it...

 

They sell a cover that goes directly over the bar (without padding), but I couldnt imagine it looking right. have you seen anything like that before?
