Nissan entering V8 Supercar series in Australia

http://www.autoblog.com/2012/02/09/n...-in-australia/

Nissan's racer will be forced to use a generic V8 drivetrain to conform to the rule book, so don't expect to see any more turbo sixes dotting eyes on the track.
See . . . even the Aussies' know how to create a spec series with different body work. Actually, rumors are that the Nissan engine may be a OHC, while Ford and Holden still use push-rod engines. Also, I think the fact that the Supercars are going to common chassis (if memory serves) played a huge role in entering the series and development costs are substantially lower.

It will be interesting to see if Nissan can repeat it's past success in Supercars.

So ... what car will Nissan be using? Do they even have a full-size RWD V8 car?

well, they dont have a V8 RWD car, so they'll have to use a substitute, much like ford, chevy, and toyota do with nascar

RWD V8 car... Nissan Fuga aka Infiniti M56? Or else use the Skyline/G37 body with a V8, like what Nissan did with the Z and GTR for JGTCC.

It doesn't work that way, NASCAR cars have nothing to do with production cars.
Australian V8 cars must use a bodyshell from production models and they must be a RWD and have a V8 engine.

So the Nissan Fuga/Infiniti M body should work fine then.

I would imagine it would be the skyline. Relatively easy (in terms on what they really have to work with) to go RWD and something recognizable. That would be my guess. Excited to see how they do.
