See . . . even the Aussies' know how to create a spec series with different body work.
Actually, rumors are that the Nissan engine may be a OHC, while Ford and Holden still use push-rod engines. Also, I think the fact that the Supercars are going to common chassis (if memory serves) played a huge role in entering the series and development costs are substantially lower.
It will be interesting to see if Nissan can repeat it's past success in Supercars.
Nissan's racer will be forced to use a generic V8 drivetrain to conform to the rule book, so don't expect to see any more turbo sixes dotting eyes on the track.

It doesn't work that way, NASCAR cars have nothing to do with production cars.
Australian V8 cars must use a bodyshell from production models and they must be a RWD and have a V8 engine.

I would imagine it would be the skyline. Relatively easy (in terms on what they really have to work with) to go RWD and something recognizable. That would be my guess. Excited to see how they do.
Q. What model Nissan will their V8 Supercar be?
A. This will be announced in due course.
Q. What engine will the Nissan V8 Supercar use?
A. There will be more details confirmed in upcoming weeks by Kelly Racing and NISMO Motorsports.
