NASCAR FR9 Engine Delay

According to a Ford Racing bullitin received this morning, there is a delay on the non-plate FR9 at this time. Several teams are working on the issues. Ford isn't 100% happy with what they've seen in testing so they are working on the issues. They are cautiously optimistic about the non-plate motor debuting possibly at Homested or Texas but they also aren't ruling out the possibility it may not get into the mix at all this season.

Doug Yates confirmed that the new FR9 Ford engine will debut at Talladega Superspeedway in two weeks. "We had our sights on Charlotte, to run it here," Yates said. "We just wanted to take our time and make sure everything was right. We're fortunate to have the luxury to do that. We're looking forward to Talladega but you know how much I love restrictor plate racing anyway."(FoxSports)(10-16-2009)
