Half of a 460 Ford big-block

This is great!

Homegrown Horsepower: Four-cylinder Mercruiser In A Dragster!
http://www.dragzine.com/news/homegro...in-a-dragster/

So far, the engine has run a best elapsed time of 5.36 at 130 mph in the 1,024-pound rear-engine dragster. On the Stuska dyno at Self Racing, the engine made over 470 horsepower and 7,500 rpm on methanol. It currently runs a set of coated Venolia pistons that have been lightened by Patterson Racing, Trend pushrods, and Total Seal Gapless piston rings. A custom-built mechanical fuel injection system using 3.150-inch butterflies was constructed by Kinsler Fuel Injection.

Interesting that they are using total seal gapless rings, they fell out of favor some years ago due to ring flutter with the two-piece design.

I wonder if that's been solved? I always liked the idea of a gapless compression ring.

Mickey Thompson campaigned a blown 4 cylinder rail in the 60's that was 1/2 of a 389 Pontiac engine.

Then he halved it again and got over 260HP from a blown 2 cylinder.

He also experimented with 1/2 of a Hemi.

Off topic....

I'm sure somewhere here there are pics of your Bullit, but given my short attention span for anything to do with a computer I doubt I'd figure out how to find them.

Can you post some pics? I'd love to see your car.
