Ford not returning to Indy anytime soon
According to Edsel II

Sad to say he seems to be right. Other than the 500, IndyCar has nothing going for it right now. Mismanaged, poorly attended, and pretty much on life support.

FMC needs a common template engine package to further develop their EcoBoost platform and Indy isn't offering said platform. I wouldn't be surprised if a mustang with a 3.5 EcoBoost isn't running in GT3/Pirelli World Challenge in 2015 to set up a SVO type Street Mustang. Though I have been wrong in the past . . .

Ford may not be there but I will be. I'm interested in the overall event not brand, driver or whatever.
Race on Sunday sell on Monday? Not so much but I'll be driving there in the race bred Honda Odyssey.

With the current engine rules, I am okay with Ford Motor Company not returning to Indy. Now , if the engine rules required V8 engines no larger than 5.0 liter stock block engines using fuel injection , I would be all for Ford returning to Indy. By the way, I always watch the Indy 500 and enjoy seeing a different form of racing other than stock car racing.
