Based on Ford's recently launched FG Falcon XR8 sedan, the FG01 represents Ford's latest weapon in the V8 Supercar Touring Car race series in Australia. Developed over 18 months by major Ford V8 Supercar teams Ford Performance Racing (FPR) Triple 8 (T8) and Stone Brothers Racing (SBR), the FG01 meets Touring Car Entrants Group (TEGA) 'Blueprint specification', and it is now set for a mid-year homologation. The FG01 prototype will sit in pit lane for most of the upcoming race at Sandown this weekend, however, will be able to stretch it's wings for a few preview laps on the 3.1 kilometre circuit.
