cool i wanna see a Ford GT in Le mans.

I wonder what engine they will use. is forced induction accepted at le mans?

 

I'd love to see it happen. The GT-1 class really needs some fresh blood. But I noticed that the last of their bi-weekly updates was posted last summer. Hmmm...

 

I can't think of a better outfit for this than Doran Racing. World class, the consummate privateer racing program. This guy's dreaming big, that's for sure; it'll be a long row to hoe. I hope he doesn't end up just ****ing his money away [anybody remember Cadillac's LMP program?]. No matter how much R&D or preparation goes into it, when it comes time for homologation, they'll still be subject to the whims and perogatives of the French at the ACO, and whatever mood they're in that day.

Technically, they can't lay claim to the title of "first ever race prepped Ford GT in the US." That honor goes to the guys at Kinetic Motorsport [they unveiled their car at SEMA last yr]. IIRC, the car was going to be in World Challenge, but the project is pretty much dead in the water. Their aero mods are spot-on [it's just what I'd have done to "modernize" a GT-40 for racing, if I were a gazillionaire], and give the it a really aggressive look while still keeping the distinctive GT look.
