Why does the Chase seem so boring. Why can't the winner get a few more extra points. Isn't the point differential between 1rst and 2nd at a race the same as between 2nd and 3rd. It's stupid. Give the winner a bunch more points. Lets emphasize winning and not finishing safely.

 

You would think, especially in the chase. They give you 10 bonus points in the season, so you would think they would give a bigger bonus for winning in the chase.

 

good job carl, I didnt think he had a shot at winning it. too bad jimmy couldnt have finished back a little farther

 

Chase shouldn't exist in the first place. It's just a stupid point system.

I totally agree !
I watch a race to see the best car-driver WIN, not points racing. There should be a bigger reward for winning. A serious disrespect to race fans. Look what it has done to F-1.
The whole idea of racing is to win the race, I have more respect for the most winning driver than a points one. I`m sure the cup championship hasn`t always gone to the most wins driver.

If it hadn`t worked jeff gordon would have won. I want him to be winless in 2008.

 

Like Matt Kenseth? I was at TMS, and watching a fuel strategy race ranks just barely above a rain delay with 30 jet driers, tow trucks and ambulances turning laps in drizzle. I'm a Junior fan (really anyone but R.Gordon, Kyle Busch or Rusty Wallace) but it was nice to see the excitment of the guy next to me, he was 70 or so and jumping up and down like a kid at Christmas. All in all it was a fun weekend, the truck race was on halloween, and some of the ladies dressed, shall we say, appropriately!

 

I think the champion should be someone who drives really well entire season, not just last 10 races.

I'm happy for Carl, but Matt ... He was 2 pts away from finishing 10th in standings and attending that final thing at New York. Ragan finished one position better than Kenseth (24th vs 25th), he should've let Matt finish ahead of him. Ragan was gonna finish 13th in standings no matter what.

 

Amen man! If a bumper has too much paint on it with a Ford, they scream from the highest mountain about cheating. Knaus has unapproved parts in the engine etc and its fines etc which doesnt' do crap to Hendrick. Hello? Can you say Chevy favoritism?

Look how long the season went on with what...60+ more horsepower advantage in Kyle Bush's Toyota engine before anyone took a look at it. It was BLATANT from race 1. He drove away from the field BY HIMSELF like they were standing still. I'm glad that team didn't win the championship because if they had, I would've just ignored it as a false championship.

 

Yep. Same thing about changing rules. When Kenseth won championship back in 2003 whey changed rules. When Roush qualified all 5 of his cars in the Chase they change rules.

I don't see them changing rules now even everyone can see that Chase is not working.

 

In my opinion, Matt isn't that kind of racer . . .
