The car did not catch fire. It was the extra batteries and wiring for the pace car lights, etc. The car is a great car and better than any Ford 4 door RWD V8. Oh that's right, Ford does not have a 4 door V8 or a 4 door RWD other than their trucks.

The only thing wrong with the Chevy SS is they priced it out of my range or I might have bought one instead of the Mustang GT.

Uhh I would take a Crown Victoria over the SS. Sure, it's faster but it won't outlast or take the abuse that the Crown Vic will. Plus IMO the Crown Vic's look great while the SS looks a bit odd, I prefer the subtlety of the Caprice over the flashyness of the SS.

Just get a G8 GT or a GXP they are almost the same car and they can be bought for less than the SS can.

My beef is not with the Chevy at all. They are nice, well built quality cars, My beef is with GM, killing Pontiac and keeping Buick.

And for those that are busting on GM for the government assistance, GM put a lot of design into their newer line, banking on sales, then the economy took a dive. It was a risk that no one could have predicted. And weren't some of Ford's overseas companies bailed out?

My 1993 Trans Am was built way better than my 2014 Mustang. Everything on the car was of higher quality.

And it would still be a Ford Taurus with a V6. Kick all the **** you want. You're still driving a Taurus with a V6.

I only had it 10 months. Great in a straight line and cruising on the highway. Especially passing Chebys.

But it did have all season tires on it and weighs as much as a truck so it was a terrible handling car.

But I can't imagine an SS would be any better.

Not better. Just more fun and a lot cooler. With that great V8 growl when you stomp on it. Just gotta make sure that trunk lid comes with a fire blanket. Lol

I heard an SS get on the highway the other day. It sounded really nice in stock form.
