Looks like the Acemco Saleen is finally starting to give the factory Vettes a little competition. They put the car on the GT1 pole this weekend, and although the Vettes got by to finish their customary 1-2, the Saleen finished 3rd by about a car length, rather than a lap or two.

 

If they threw the twin turbos like the new S7 has on those racecars they'd be blowing the doors off the Vettes

 

I don't think that turbos are legal in the class. Then again, ALMS has given the Saleen a few breaks already, with a wing that isn't ACO legal as well as larger restrictors.

 

Hey Dan . . is that the RX-3 in your Avatar you spoke about at Mid-Ohio?

Yup.. The last RX-3 left at the Runoffs. The pic in my avatar does give it a bit of a J-Lo look. I assure you it looks much better in person.... from 20 feet away, anyway. Greg Creamer even called it beautiful in the '03 Runoffs coverage on Speed. Hobbs, however questioned the aerodynamics. Hobbs has a pretty good point. I'll see about getting some better pics next week.

I probably won't be coming to the runoffs, though things change. Darn College/Pro Football eating into my race watching!
