Question about Roush engines

Do any of the Roush Mustangs...be it stage 1, 2, or 3, have any internal engine modifications or are they the stock 5.0 blocks and heads? Sorry its a dumb question...I tried searching and didn't find much... figured I would ask here for a real answer

The Aluminator engine is the Stage 3 engine and it has forged internals because you can get up to 725 horsepower or so. (depending on mods of course) Anytime higher horsepower engines are involved, it's better to have forged internals.

Thanks!

I went to their website and couldn't get a clear answer from them. http://www.roushperformance.com/vehi...14-stage3.html

"At the heart of the Stage 3 Mustang is the ROUSHcharged™ powertrain. Featuring Eaton’s® award-winning Twin Vortices Series (TVS) technology, the R2300 supercharger combined with ROUSH's High-Efficiency Intercooler and an OE-level PCM Calibration boosts the "Coyote" 5.0L's output to a tire punishing 575 horsepower and 505 lb.-ft. torque. Team that up with the optional Ford Racing "Aluminator" Engine, and you’ve got the ultimate building block for the 625 HP Phase 2 or 675 HP Phase 3 upgrade*."

Its not too clear what "Aluminator" means...

The Aluminator is a Ford Racing product. You have to go to their site.

For the Roush Stage 3, it is their top dog and a package you can purchase for $8,500 as an option. From there you can add mods to get up to 725 crank horsepower, which of course, drives the cost up more and more.
Like Charlie said above, that engine is available to purchase alone as well if you like.

To answer the original question...Roush Performance replied to my email; base model Stage 3, phase 1and phase 2, do not require the FRP Aluminator motor. Unless you selected the Aluminator as an option when you had your Stage 3 built, then you only have a stock 5.0 Coyote...no mods done to motor. Phase 3 should be an Aluminator to handle the extra HP, but it is still up to the customer.

Didn't mention it in previous response, but Stage 1 and Stage 2 do not touch the motor...they only add the body kit (Stage 1) and suspension (Stage2).

Correct. You cannot get a Stage 1 or Stage 2 with the Aluminator motor. ONLY the Stage 3, the top dog, gets the Aluminator if you opt for that option.

So what kind of warranty is on the Stage 3 cars without the Aluminator but with the supercharger? Just out of curiosity...

Are you interested in a Stage 3?
I can almost guarantee you can low ball the dealers into submission to make room for the 2014's, which are already out. You'll be happy with a Stage 3.

Or you can look at the Q600

Steeda parts carry the lifetime warranty and the vehicle has the standard Ford Powertrain warranty. Steeda has had 0 warranty claims when its parts have been directly installed on a consumer's car.

You guys are confusing the word phase and stage. A stage 3 or "rs3" doesnt come with the aluminator unless you pay the 8500 bucks. There are 3 phases of horsepower for the rs3. The phase 3 rs3 is what they recommend getting the aluminator for. There is a rs1 with only cosmetic mods, and a rs2 with cosmetic and suspension mods. But on the rs3, the aluminator is still only an option.

HA HAAAAAAAAAAAA
Sorry.
There are 3 "stages" in Roush cars and 3 "phases".
The "stage" 3 Mustang is the only one that has the 3 different "phases" which are in engine HP and TQ. For the Stage 3 model only.
Phase 1 -575 HP and 505 TQ
Phase 2 - 625 HP and 525 TQ
Phase 3 - 675HP and 585 TQ

What trans are the stage 3 phase 1 /2/3 running. Is it the MT-82?
Also what rear end (axle) gears do they run..
last question, will Roush be involved with the 2016 flat plane crank Mustang.
Thank You

The transmission is the MT-82. I hear it is strong enough to hold, so that isn't a problem. I am told the the half shafts have been upgraded by Roush for the '15 Stage 3 cars.
I have 3.73's rear end gears on my '13 RS3.
I'm not sure if Roush will be involved with the 2016 flat plane crank Mustang. I do know that Roush is working on a Phase 2 and a Phase 3 car for the '15 Stage 3 model as well.
Phase 1 - 670 HP and 545 TQ
Phase 2 - about 700 HP or more and TQ = ?? (as I am told)
Phase 3 - closer to 800 HP and TQ = ?? (as I am told again.)
