Non-GT Premium Roush Stage 3???

From what I had read on this and other Forums, I thought all Roush Stage 3 Mustangs were of the GT Premium line...but I recently came across a 2014 Roush Stage 3 that was the basic GT. It came from Ford with the cloth seats, but Roush replaced them with the Roush stitched leather seats and had the different instrument cluster.

Has anyone else come across a Roush Stage 3 that wasn't a GT Premium? These must be very unusual.

I saw 1 at a Car show and I believe I saw one at Lance Cunningham that did not have the Sync emblem on the console when I was looking for my MCA V6 last year.
I do know with the RS V6 a lot of them were base cars to start with so why not on the GT?

RSVP v6 is a little different than a Stage 3...that's why I think it's unusual for Roush to use a base GT.

Roush builds cars with lots of options and at different price levels to entice a buyer. They purchase these base/premium cars directly from Ford to modify. It makes sense that some would be less expensive models at times. They are a company that is in it to make money, getting the car that's available at that time and saves them money is logical. All about profit.

Also, remember that their cars are modified and become a completely different car at the end. The end product is their goal.

Little tidbit for you: Saleen used base V6s in 1999 to make the highly coveted SC351. Reason being is that it was it not only lighter but cheaper from the get go.

Here is Something straight from the Roush Web Site
Standard components inside the Stage 3 consist of a custom gauge cluster (when built on premium base models only), ROUSH embroidered floor mats, a ROUSH center console button, a Stage 3 dash medallion and Jack Roush's signature graphic on the dash. Under the hood are a serialized Stage 3 plaque and a chassis build plaque
So with that I would say you can get it in a Base GT Model for the Starter car.

There are different interior packages as well.
Some come with the Recaro seats and others with the premium interiors. Also, there are premium exterior colors as well.

There's even a hyper color series...one is called Mat It Mango. Lol doesn't detract from its ferociousness.

Exactly. That is what I meant by the "premium" colors.
