Did anyone else read the Car and Driver review of the 2014 RS3 in the Nov 2013 Issue?

505-525...depending on the car and conditions at dyno.

Lmao I had a 95 civic as my first car and that thing was indeed a beast! I think it ran a 19 as it's best time at the drag strip. I could swear it's faster than my gt. I may just go trade it for a civic now.

If I could have afforded it outright, I would've went with an RS3. I ended up adding the RS1 package, minus the fogs, myself. And I just took delivery of my 575 TVS kit from Roush. Bolting the supercharger on by itself is good for at least 100 whp. The C&D numbers just don't add up. Either way, if the supercharged Roush is not good enough for some with the "stock" Roush tune, throw on a VMP / Brenspeed tune for another 50+ whp.

Hp and tq don't define a cars fun potential. You guys are really closed minded to think that the rs3 is gods gift and those who disagree are on drugs.

Taken out of context the civic comparo seems silly. But you'd realize in my FULL statement that based on priorities in which one values a car, ANY Honda could but seen as a better option.

No one here thinks an rs3 is gods greates gift. And yes there are tons of factors that determine a cars overall capability and ones desire towards it. There are categories in the auto world. A civic and a mustang are not in the same. This is why I laugh at the rs3 wishing it were a 99 Honda.

Well, based on my current priority of wanting some lunch, a cheese sandwich is a better option then a RS3...

You are very correct about a car's HP and TQ numbers do not define a car's fun potential.
I think the Shelby is the top dog. (Actually, the Super Snake is. But, they start life as a Shelby.) And if I had the money, I would have been all over a 2013/2014 Shelby. No way is the RS3 "God's gift". Although,.....it is one ballsy car.

So,.......people should buy a Honda because based on priorities in which one values a car, ANY Honda could have been seen as a better option?

That is a killer price! Especially for a 2014.

I too read this article, and while I am not a professional driver and I don't own a Roush Stage 3 I have very recently driven a couple of them along with a couple of 14 gt premium's. The only thing I can figure is the stage 3 car and drive had must have been faulty in some way. The stage 3 is much quicker than a gt premium! It is very obviouse driving each, one after another. I am not saying the Roush is $10,000 or more better than a standard gt premium but it is much quicker!

I would love to get one to a track and see what it will do in the 1/4.

Well the stage 3 is supercharged and the GT is not. I would hope it would be quicker!

I read the same article and was baffled with their results. My 2014 RS3 is much quicker than the 2014 GT I owned before this. I will say the launch in a RS3 needs to be controlled, spinning the tires will give me a bad ET. The RS3 will spin until all the rubber is gone. I know my 14GT had massive wheel hop, none in the RS3, spinning of tires are harder to feel because your way past the squeal and the exhaust note is so loud it can be hard to tell how much spin you had. I jump on mine after shifting to second gear and left two nice tire marks. Just my opinion.
