Shelby Announces 624-Horsepower "R" Tune for 2011 GT350

In the world of Shelby, the GT350 slots nicely below the GT500. Or does it? The GT350 was nipping at the GT500's heels with just 25 horsepower less, and now a new "R" tune package has pushed the car up to 624 horsepower.

Something has to make up for the massive amounts of UGLY in that $74K+ car.
I paid $56k for my 500. What could I do to it for the extra $18,000. Probably beat a GT350R pretty easily.
It's nice to see another a$$kickin' Ford on the road, but don't affect how I feel about my GT500

If the GT350 weren't so hideous and expensive, I'd declare it the baddest production mustang ever. Give me the performance parts of the GT350 and let me put together my own exterior package and I'd be set for life!

The GT350 is strickly for blind Shelby followers, not meant to be derogatory on a personal basis but that's the honest truth. The difference between the GT500's performance with the SVTPP and the GT350 will be minimal, a fraction of a second at best on the 1/4 mile. An additional $40K is a lot of money to add from the aftermarket to a Mustang GT.
For the cost and Shelby's tradition of issues the GT500 is the better car and better buy specially with dealers willing to accept offers below MSRP. The way I see it only one of the two is genuine and the other is a patch up job.

I posted in error, I meant to post below MSRP instead of below invoice.
Try eBay. There are several below MSRP or best offer ads. Many of those cars have been posted for weeks with no takers. I bought mine at $1K over invoice and the deal was made over the phone before I set foot on the dealer.

I am looking right now for a White one with out stripes....I have found a one...but its a hike...hope to locate one a little closer with the options I want. What options did you get....I want the SVTPP and the Electronic pkg.
I think 500-1000 over invoice is fair...they still get the hold back money.

Sorry Cody I no longer have it.
To make a long story short, I loaned it against my better judgement and proved to be a mistake on my part. Two weeks later it was not the same and you would not want to have it. It is difficult for me to say no but it was a eye opening experience nevertheless.

Perhaps if a few more were to be added I could make up my mind but then the price might increase.
