New MGW 6 Speed shifter for the Shelby

Has anyone placed an order or installed one yet? I loved my MGW in my '06 and plan to put this in my '11 but would like to hear a little feed back vs. the stock Shelby. The stocker feels like a truck shift after my '06.

I'm also toying with the Rally Ball MGW offers. The Black/Red ball would match my car oh so nicely. Does anyone have an MGR ball? Thoughts? feel?

Thanks in advance!

Apparently one of the big differences on the 2010+ MGW shifters compared to the 05-09 is it no longer has height adjustment capabilities.

I'm seeing that now as well... I'll have to ask George why that is.

I sent MGW an email as they don't accept PMs on here... Still waiting on a response from them. I'm hoping the ball sits lower than the stock position. Even with a shorter throw I still feel the vertical height could benefit from a 3/4" or so drop.

hey guys,

the reason our shifter is not height adjustable is that the boots on the 2010-2011 gt500s canot reverse like the 2007-2009 cars and thus the offset height bracket sits too far to line up in the hole.

our **** is set lower than stock but not by 3.4 inch more like 1/2 or so but it feels perfect. the adjustable throw makes it easy to get a very happy medium between tranny smoothness, shift effort and throw length

regards
george

With the factory short-throw shifter on the '11 GT500, I can't see much reason nor value changing the shifter.

If you've ever had an MGW under hand, you'd understand.

If you could see the build quality of the stock POS shifter you'd understand. The engineering in the MGW shifter is incredibe as is the build quality. Even Shelby American has choosen it as the shifter for the new SuperSnakes.
I had one in my 2006 GT and loved it.

What seems to be the best # of turns for you guys when setting the throw? I've read "4" was the sweet spot and the instructions say "3-6".

Well here's a pic of the FRPP one. Compare that to the pic of the MGW and take a guess which one is better.
