Is my Clutch Toast???
I just got off the phone with the dealer this morning. The service manager said the clutch is all burnt up and they can't find anything mechanically wrong that caused it. They are going to call Ford and get back to me. I'm not feeling good about this...
I read that as everything is working as designed. So it must be because of your power upgrades. so no warranty for you.
Good luck I hope I am wrong.
I didnt say it was the pulley fault. I just sounds like thats what they might be leaning towards saying. The fact that they said they cant find anything mechanically wrong implies that it must be something non mechanical of at least thats what they want it to be. Such as increased wear and tear maybe
I read that as works just like it is supposed to you must have done something to it or I dont want to have to cover the problem.
Like I said I hope I am wrong.

Dude, that sucks man. I really hope for your sake that this isn't the answer. That makes me cautious to mod mine. Something as little as a pully and tune can cause the clutch to go? Not good.
No problem! Time to get a racing clutch!

Mods have little to do with it, it's the individual use primarily. The enhanced performance is the justification for the Ford dealer's hesitance to honor the warranty. Given the same circumstances a similar outcome can occur to a bone stock car.
The irony and contradiction is the way Ford advertises and promotes the Mustang, then blames drivers for causing problems cars should endure. It would not be a bad idea for Ford to have disclaimers.

Well right now the dealer isn't blaming me either. They are working with Ford. I have a 05 Mustang GT with bolt ons putting down 307RWHP. It has 57k on it with the original clutch and no issues. I know how to drive a clutch and have had one in all my cars dating back to 1998. None of the cars ever needed any kind of transmission work until now...

MmMmMm that's toasty.
My opinion, though I am not a professional... Looks like the clutch never wore "flat" from the get go... did you break it in nice and easy?
This looks exactly like what evolution did with their new 5.0 when they toasted the clutch early on.

I didn't realize there was a "break-in" period for the clutch. I just drove it normally, no crazy driving or anything.
