Motor Trend drives GT350
But then again I could also get a Boss and just be happy with that and have money left over for a V6 vert for the wife.
Plus there would be a dozen less Shelby badges in the world. A man can dream....
Looking at the Shelby site, it's running Goodyear Eagle F1 supercar. The fronts are 285-35R19. Can't get a good look at the rear set.
Of course, the site also says that a Goodyear "race set" is an option. I'd wager that M/T was riding on the optional DOT approved slicks...

Yeah, def race slick. Mustangs have always had a hard time keeping power to the ground. I know Eagle F1's are not that great of a tire. There are way better, stickier tires out there that are DOT/Street legal. Highly, highly doubt they used the F1s.
I'll pass on the body work. Everything else is sweet!
Not to pick here but....
- As mentioned, what tires were used?
- MT says the car was 'pre-production'. Use your imagination about how that might differ from a car they actually deliver to the public.
- Look at the 'drag strip' used for the 2011 GT500 tests (gravel strewn runway they use for all their testing) and this particular test (done on a prepped 1/4 mile track)?
