Those look like the California Specials.

Ordered mine on X-plan yesterday. 2012 GT500, Black with Tape Stripe Delete, Navigation and Glass Roof. MSRP is $53,830, X-plan is $49,368.72 out the door, no sales tax in my state. My 39 month lease with $2000 down will be $540 per month, with 12,000 mile allowance per year. Dealer has changed his existing order he already had in to my car's specs. He will call his regional manager tomorrow to try to get an idea when my car will be built. I hope I get it before August!

The problem with the glass roof is that any weight saving made with the aluminum block is negated by the heavy glass roof. If you don't mind that, that's cool. The other problem I have with the glass roof is the break in the stripes. Again, if you don't mind that or you're getting stripe delete, that's cool.

I'm finding it hard to find a dealer willing to sell the GT500 on X Plan.

But I think I have one now in Enfiled. Another said they would too, but not until later in the year (if I wait till then, then I'll want the '13 anyway...).

whoa, is that dealer willing to wheel and deal on the grabber blue 2010 GT in that picture? I see it's listed for 38K on their website, but it's a leftover 2010 model, that price can't be what they really want for it.

It can be here. I would change the wheels on that and the SVT Shelby. I have a shot of the interior from GB.

But compared to convertible you don't get the chassis flex inherent with all verts no matter how much stiffening the do.

Doesn't the glass roof actually strengthen the car, from what I've heard?

glass roof only weighs 28 lbs. And the weight is not over the front of the car. I wouldn't say it negates the 11's weight savings over the '10 GT500

I would say adding anymore weight is not good, but my biggest deal with the glass roof is the break in stripes. Where did you get the roof weight? 28lbs sounds awfully light for a glass roof.

From a Ford vehicle dynamics engineer who used to post here. I think he meant it's 28 lbs heavier than the standard roof. But I'd be guessing on that sincs all of his posts were removed

I was dealing with two dealers:
One had a 2011 the other 2012.
The 2011 needed to go to make room for their 2012
The 2012 was 56K and that dealer would not drop. They would pay tax and title but only 500 under MSRP.
The 2011 dealer drop 3.5K under MSRP and paid tax and title. I ended with a 2011 for 52K. They were 30 miles apart and during the process each bad mouthed the other. Also, both offered my 4.5%. I feel like I got a good deal.

I searched under the New England Ford Dealer's website, put my zipe code in, and decided to call every single dealership starting with the closest one to try to get X-plan. The first one I called, out of hundreds, was 4.6 miles away from me. They said yes to X-plan. In 5 minutes I got what I wanted, after six months of research. I was very lucky.
