Have faith. 2009 to 2010 was a huge jump in appearance and quality in the interior. 2015 may yet please you.
But, yes Ford should continue to try to improve their standards on the interior of their cars to catch up to some of the others.
Didn't they love the 2012 Boss LS? And one of them owns a 1967 Mustang, I thought? Clarkson, I know, loved the Ford GT so much that he bought one. I also thought they really liked the ZR1? They certainly are way more about entertainment than journalism, but they may not be as anti-American cars as you think. There are some that they do love.

Do they finally not bad mouth the Mustangs?

Anyone who thinks the 2010+ interior is cheap and then likes BMW's 1990s style interiors when we're well into 2013 doesn't know jack about interiors IMO.

I remember when they reviewed the original 2007 GT500 and suggested that it made less than the 500HP as advertised. Why didn't they do the same with an M5 or a 911? They obviously know the difference between flywheel HP and RWHP but misguided the audience. All I know is that the GT500 and any Corvette will destroy the European competition in terms of performance within and even above the same price territory!
ok, end of rant.

I'm surprised by this but not totally shocked. My brother had a 2010 Mustang GT and the foam (not ripped, leather seat) on the driver side was predictably worn as most other cars but the rest of the car's interior was still perfect and quiet. My sister has a 2009 Ford Fusion with similar looking interior materials to the Mustang and her interior is still as good as new despite the fact that the car has close to 150k on it.
My 1997 driver's side leather seat is just now beginning to fray on the left bolster... Perhaps it is hit or miss depending on the model I know Fusion interiors are quiet and sound after 100k. I wonder if the GT500 seats are of equal or better quality than lower level cloth V6/GT base seats

I'm getting tired of the crappy interior argument. I think the 2010-up Mustang interior looks great and is a huge improvement over old Mustangs. I have been in lower level European cars (BMW 3 series, VW Passat, Audi A4) and I don't see the huge difference in quality. The same can be said with the C6 Corvette and probably the upcoming C7, unless the car's interior is plated in gold and encrusted with precious stones it will never be good enough for some people.
I think the 2005-09 Mustang has a great looking interior but with crappy cheap looking quality but I don't feel that way about the 2010-up cars. Top Gear, though entertaining is full of ****! They come from a country with the worst automotive track record yet they bash everything under the sun. The 3 hosts each have their own bias. Richard Hammond is always going to pick the German car, Clarkson will pick the Italian exotic and May is usually the guy in the middle with no real opinion.

Even a base BMW 3-series is leaps and bounds better than a Mustang's interior. I love the Mutsang and will be selling my Beemer to get it, but it is one of the key things holding me back. Just the look and feel of the Mustang interior is slightly cheap. I love the Taurus SHO interior and steering wheel even more than my own car's. If I can get a Mustang with a SHO interior, that would be amazing.... Not sure why Ford does not just carry over the SHO wheel....

First off, the M3 interior is better, but for 70,000. That's 27000 more than I paid for my Boss, which I didn't buy for the interior
You can keep the m3 & it's nice interior. And I'll pass you at the track too

We had a 2007 CLK550. I called it our German Mustang because they are about the same size & speed. The Merc hag SUPER interior & was very luxurious. It also cost $65K new.
Now we're in a GT500 vert. Same money, very different cars. The GT500 is cheap interior but *****-out fast.
I asked my wife if she wanted to trade the used Merc for a new Mustang & she said no. The Merc got totaled & now we have the GT500. She likes the vert Shelby but still comments on how cheap it is inside.
Maybe Ford needs to bring back a luxury trim version. Call it whatever you want & charge the extra $10K for a "luxury" interior. A REAL interior upgrade; not just a CS package.

Sounds like I hit a nerve.
And I know I am right. You don't have to compare the materials, and fit and finish to something as expensive as a BMW to see where Ford cut corners. My friend just bought a 2013 Kia Optima and it's interior is nicer than mine. Everything is put together with much higher tolerances, much more attention paid to gaps and noise reduction, and the plastic parts like the door panels and center console don't feel like you would break them of you pushed on them hard. A friggin Kia.

I really don't care
I ordered the car sight unseen and it exceeded my expectations inside and out. I didn't buy it to be surrounded in leather and leatherette and suede.
My 2000 is better than my 1993. And my 2007 is better than my 2000. And guess what my 2013 is better by far than my 2007.
So we either have Mustangs that people can afford to buy or we have the all out supercar with the interior of a Bentley that only footballers can afford.
I'll take the motor and some semblance of comfort for the price.
I swear if Jesus Christ came down from heaven tomorrow you people would ***** and say what took you so long JC?

Hey Gary; calm down, get in your car, go for a ride & fuggedaboutit! HA HAH AHA HA HA HA HAH A!
Man, too bad you're so far away. We need to grab a couple pitchers of beer and just laugh!
I've had a number of Mustangs too: 76 ghia, 79 ghia, 83 GLX vert, 88 GT & the 2013 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Shelby GT500. The 76 had a much better intior & fit / finish than ANY of the 1st gen cars. Each platform got slightly better than the previous platforms. I love our 2013 even though it's not as nice as the Merc was. Two different kinds of cars. We love our Mustang for what it is.
And when I see you at the 50th anniv Mustang week on the right coast, I'll buy you a pitcher of brew.

And I'll be on the right coast for the 50th for sure. Me and my TMS brothers and sisters.
