Ford Racing Sport Exhaust on 2011 Shelby

I have a set of the Ford Racing Sport mufflers. I bought them last year with the intention of buying a 5.0. I kept them too long and couldn't send them back. Then I had the extreme fortune of picking up a 2011 Shelby a few months ago. Does anybody know if they would fit my Shelby and if they would even sound better than the stock Shelby mufflers? They are brand new and I hate to waste them if they will work on the Shelby.

I called Ford Racing and they said that from a fit standpoint that they would work and that there would not be any adverse effects to the car.. They also said that it would get a throatier note. The only drawback was they weren't sure about the drone level. I guess I will put them on and see what they sound like.

Did you know that they're trying to change the name of Alpharetta to Moaning?

Unlike the '03-'04 Cobra and the '07/08 GT500 the '11's exhaust note is throaty on low RPMS and quite noticeable on WOT without sounding like a truck. Aftermarket exhausts with higher dbs will have drone and its higher vibrations will eventually develop rattles on the dashboard. IMO I would sell them unless loud is a preference. Just like the Bullitt, Ford did a great job making the current GT500's performance match its sound when it counts.
