First 2013 GT500 Performance Numbers
Just got the February, 2012 Car and Driver, great lil write up.
"During engineering tests at the Nardo track in Italy, this GT500 has already achieved 202 mph. The gearing changes and higher redline allow this Shelby to hit 60 mph in first gear in no more than 3.7 seconds; we expect a Quarter mile time in the mid 11s."
Car and Driver, February, 2012 "My Not-So-Little Pony" page 13, last paragraph.

Not to shine the light off the '13 GT500 but the '11 and '12 GT500s are very close on the 0 - 60 on first gear near the red line, if not even.

Exactly, with a 2.66:1 first gear. I guess it makes it easier to launch and with the launch control, they claim, "only a pro can beat it--and that's on a perfect day." Tires are the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2 19 inch front, 20 inch back, is all that was mentioned. No gas guzzler tax, a perfect mix of power, traction, and dare I say efficiency?

I was more worried about the daily driving excelleration, but i remember reading somewhere that there was 500ft/lbs of torque @ 2000rpm and the full 600 around 3k and up, this is more important to me.
One of the only things i don't like about the 5.0 is the very low first gear and the jump in torque in the rpm band, this gt500 seems to address both of those.
I never thought i would own a gt500 but this one seems to be the mustang i have always wanted.
