My local dealer found a few...but I need to deal directly with the dealer that purchased the car to get the best deal....I might just order one.

$1K over invoice is more than fair considering the dealer adds the dealer fee and holdback to its earnigs plus the buyer pays for the $486 FDAF Assessment fee from Ford. The difference between invoice and MSRP should be +/- $4,500.

The demand for the GT500 has leveled off, an indication of such is the long stay of cars advertised in eBay and Autotrader. A dealer will be foolish not to accept a sale based on a fair offer.

BTW and just in case. Due to the present economy's constraints my finder's fee is a low and reasonable 10%... of the MSRP.

. . .

TIA!

If I were in the market for a new GT500, that would be the one I might go after as well. Looks great!

Good luck GregS getting the one you want!

Waiting to hear back from the dealer on what they can do....I will keep you posted. If they are out of line....I plan to order one. I am not going to pay some ridiculous amount over invoice.

No doubt, it does great although it's hard to keep clean. Exhibit A: GT SE, Mach 1, Cobra, and GT500. It is not meant to discourage our new member, I am just mentioning my past experiences.

UPdate

Well...called the dealership to see if we could make a deal....the sales person said he would call me back...thats been several hours. I guess the economy is good up in Albany....too busy to call me back. I am glad sales are well up there.

I am still on the look out. I am going to try the dealer on this site to see what he can do if I order one from him. I am open to ordering one....8-10 weeks is fine with me.

I will bet you a test drive he will call. I would not expect a call in the next few days or until the reality sinks in, meaning, the economy, winter is around the corner, and the fact GT500s with the stripe delete option hibernate in dealers a lot longer than those with stripes. IMO it is a buyers market.

I will give them a few days and then call back and ask for a new sales person. Its on EBAY...and they are all sitting. Bids go up to the 40k mark and stop. So....patients is a virtue...I am waiting.

I am also going to talk to my local dealer about ordering one.
