CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message...

... comes on with every start. It has happened for the last few days.

The oil and filter were changed less than 2000 miles ago. I reset it each time but comes back. Is there any way to remove this message other resetting each time? Thanks.

The only way I know of is to have a dealer reset the "oil life"

There should be instructions in the owners manual to reset it yourself. I do it on the Fords I have where I change my own oil but I don't remember the procedure.

It's more detailed than just hitting the reset button.

Hey 1 COBRA,

2k7gtcs, is correct. Here are the steps that show in your manual: To reset the oil monitoring system to 100% after each oil change perform the following: 1. Press and release SETUP to display “OIL LIFE XXX% HOLD RESET = NEW”. 2. Press and hold RESET for two seconds and release to reset the oil life to 100%. You can also access your manual here: http://owner.ford.com/servlet/Conten...&model=Mustang.

I finally had spare time last night. It took less than a minute.

Smurfette is happy again.
