I'm honestly not worried about this car. Day late and a dollar short...

Judging by the numbers at which the Camaro is selling I beg to differ. The Mustang barely outsold the Challenger last month which is usually well behind the Mustang. I honestly can't figure it out. It is the best Mustang ever made and over the last few months the Camaro has been easily outselling the competition. With the new ZL1 and convertible those numbers will only increase.

Who cares? Get the car YOU want to drive and don't worry about what others want to drive.

Personally I think the mustang appeals more to the older crowd, the babyboomers, although there are young people who buy them too. Next gen will be redesigned with it's focus on a younger target group. But like I said- buy and drive the car that appeals to you.

My point was that since the Camaro is outselling the Mustang the ZL1 is hardly a day late and a dollar short.

Just because it sells, doesn't mean it's the best in class.

I think the reason the camero sold so wellwas because of the vert all the dealer had to have one. Ford was just starting build the 2012 none delivered let see what April and May bring.

Camaro guys have been waiting 9 years to get another camaro, of course they sold like hotcakes.
Then you have every 7 year old kid screaming "bumble bee!!!" lol it got alot of press, but in usual GM fashion the quality of the car is not up to par, ask the guys with year old paint already chipping if you breathe on it and getting dulled out by the sun.

I have two huge CarMax dealerships within twenty miles of my house, each with probably 500-800 used cars on their lots. Both dealerships have At least 10-15 2010+ used Camaros for sale. One of the dealerships has one 2010+ used Mustang for sale and the other has zero. People may be buying the Camaros, but they aren't keeping them.

Also, I've traveled a lot lately and Camaros seem to be readily available in the rental car fleets. I don't see as many Mustangs. Many the sales numbers reflect a large number of Camaros going straight to the rental market?

Amen to that Brother. The age old question of mustang vs camaro will never be settled as this tends tends to be a decision on religion basis. Great that we have choices, if anything, here's hoping that gm and ford duke it out always so we all end up with better performance. After all, if this was not the case we all may be driving around a prius or some other 4 cylinder car to get from point a to point b.

http://www.caranddriver.com/news/car/11q1/2013_ford_mustang_shelby_gt500_to_have_camaro_zl1_ slapping_600-plus_horsepower-future_cars

Interesting article. Again with 600+ HP the current rear wheels aren't going to cut it. The article even mentions this. The launch control on the current Boss would be an excellent feature for the new car. It even mentions a style upgrade with a more modern look. I don't know then if this is a 2014+ mule for the next gen Mustang or a mid-cycle style upgrade over the current car which some have mentioned would occur in 2013. It also has a bored out 5.4 to 5.8 L which is an odd change after only 2 years. Regardless it looks as if Ford is still taking the ponycar wars very seriously.

I really can't see why they would bore out the engine? A change of SC's would easily boost the HP to over 600 and would be a much cheaper option. Anyway, 2013 is a long way off so who knows what they are actually going to do? This car might be just one option they are testing.
