Hello all,
I took delivery of a 2011 Race Red Shelby GT 500 W/Electronics Package and SVTP.
I could not be any happier. I was waiting for a Boss but when I could have the Shelby at invoice why bother. I have a few questions. Will SVT/FORD still issue a certificate like they did on the '03/ 04 Cobras ? and I read somewhere that Ford was only going to build 5500 of these for 2011 is this true ?

I'm sort of in the same position. I have a Boss on order, but there's a new '11
GT500 in the color I want w/Electronics pkg and Perf pkg at a small dealer near me. Not sure what to do.....

If I may ask, what was the invoice price ?? You can PM me if you like...

Yes, the 2011 was limited to 5500 and you can register with Shelby America and the will send you a certificate.

Congrats on your new ride, looks great. May I suggest your first mod. MGW shifter, it gets rid of the spongy feel of the stock shifter and 2nd gear grinds.

Thanks Bullitt, I had no idea. I noticed they used to be free, now 45.00 that kinda sucks but I have to have it.

 

That reminds me, I have to make time to order mine.

The pre-2005 SVT despite a few flaws was very customer oriented, more personal, and down to earth. It seems more business-like nowadays but I am not about to buy a Camaro. I'll deal with a bit of arrongance in exchange for a quality product and getting my underwears stained every once in a while... FOR FREE!

Congrats, you did the same thing as me. Why get a Boss at MSRP or more when you can get a GT500 at invoice.

 

That's true and so far no regrets.
