2013 GT500 Allocation Lottery

Has anyone heard about an allocation lottery for the 2013 GT500's?

I have heard some remaining allocations won't even get made.

Rumors are rumors.

So at this point would it be better to get a '14? By the time you guys get it they will be a (model) year old...

Since you can't order a 13 anymore, your only options are locating a dealer with an incoming car that doesn't have a buyer, (if it doesn't have a window sticker, you may be able to have it modified to your specs), buy one off a lot or order a 14.
If you order a 14, there is no guarantee that you will get it before this time next year. This doesn't mean that won't luck out and get one in Apr or May.

The dealership I work for was only allocated two '13 GT500's originally. Our region called a few weeks back and offered us an "extra" allocation. That car is serialized, scheduled, and due to arrive before Christmas. We got an extra '13 Boss 302 allocation, as well, and that one is serialized, scheduled, and due to arrive in January. Apparently, Ford held off on allocating the entire '13 run of GT500's & Boss 302's just in case there were issues as the model year draws near. No issues, so Ford is currently giving out those remaining few allocations.

What are the chances of changing an order that has already been assigned a VIN and build week but no window sticker? If the order can be changed, what are the limitations?

Hey Earl, once its serialized, its very hard to change "big" items. THe dealer can try to do it, but its not always guaranteed to work. A color change should, but adding or deleting something like a glass roof, may not work. If you want to change it, do it ASAP!!

For me it'll be here next month. 14s arrive probably around May. I can drive mine all year long here. Also the 14s cost a little more and they won't be the 20th anniversary model SVT.

Brian,
A color change is what I had in mind. I have a chance to take over a 2014 order. The guy that ordered the 2014, wanted a 2013 but wasn't able to find one. But he would consider swapping with me if the color could be changed. Other than the color, both cars have the same options.
One big problem is the possible long wait before the 2014 is scheduled.

When you ordered your 2014's, did Ford give you any indication of when they may be scheduled?

Thanks for your help.
Earl

I didn't care if I got the last 2013 made, I wanted the anniversary model.

They didn't make an "anniversary model" in 2013, it is simply 20 years since SVT offered their first Cobra.

I was wondering about that. Don't remember reading anywhere about an anni model.

But there's always custom badges.

I think this is what he was talking about and it won't be on the 2014.
