2011 Shelby GT350 New Pics
Due to the curve in the rear/lights that whole black panel has sooooo many gaps in it, it looks too choppy...
. Also why do the stripes and then just stop like 1/2 an inch above the panel? I'd rather run it into the panel or continue the whole length. Then the exposed screws in the reverse light mountings. and the fact that the rear has a very pronounced funneling down effect into a \_/ shape, isn't cuttin it for me at least. IDK, maybe i'm a lil too nit picky. But for 70,000+ ... This remake of a 350 just doesn't warrant that price tag.

Plus i wonder what sort of glare hits when the lights are on and when the brakes are applied?

That close up shot of the rear tail light panels makes it look even cheesier. This hardly looks like the "extensive re-working" of the front and rear end that was mentioned in the blurbs leading up to the car's debut. I wouldn't be surprised if those parts were secured with double sided tape.
It's not 100% what I would have done, either, but only Shelby can design a Shelby, Ford does not. And being a genuine Shelby does not depend on whether we like it or not. Ford couldn't have won a race on their own in the 60's without Shelbys input, so let the old man produce what he wants and appreciate it for what it is, or not, but no sense hating on it.

saw carroll interview tonight on speed bj...he said reaction was positive and that dealers that wanted wouldn't all get...guess meaning sold out?
he seemed pretty good shape for 87 and guy who 20 years ago had new heart...could talk up a storm...was pretty cool listening to him

Generally, when I hear "reaction has been positive" I understand that to mean "reaction has been lower than we expected." When people generally like something, the reaction becomes "overwhelming" in PR-speak.
Also, they have only sold 100 according to Amy (last I heard), and I expect even that number is a bit higher than actuality (after all, she said it was going to be 3300#). Besides, I don't think this is sold through Ford dealers -- you pay SAI, and send them the car, and they do it. Dealers are not involved at all (other than buying the base car to ship to Shelby).
He is just trying to spur up demand by implying supply is low.
