Will you need to drive all the other Shelbys, Camaros, 'Cudas and Vettes that are talking about having the trouble too? You sound like the Service Advisor from the dealer I just dropped.

For those that are actually contributing to this thread, my car has been mothballed for the winter, so I won't see any progress again until spring. Has anyone seen/had any luck with a fix or improvement? I have read from the Camaro guys that the carbon rings they got as an "upgrade" to the issue, haven't solved or helped it.

Can't now because I sold it. Plus Ford knows this is an issue and is addressed in the 2013. The lead engineer even said it himself in one of the videos posted on SVTPerformance.com

Second Video down at about 3:19 in....
New Clutch, new master cylinder, new 1,2,3,5 & 6 gear ratios. He acknowledges that previous owners complain about the 1-2 shift and he goes on to say the new car is virtually impossible to grind the 1-2... ARGH!!!!!

You KNOW we won't get any fix or TSB for our '10-'12 cars though... I contacted Tremec as well and got no response from them via voicemail nor their website - which has many people on there angry...

I may just sell it next Spring and revisit a replacement in a year beyond that. As much as I love Mustangs and Shelbys, ownership is just not what I thought it'd be.

I have a couple emails for folks over at Ford if you want them. Show them the video and ask what they will do to help 2010-2012 owners. That's what I would do if I still had my 2011.

bpmurr,

Sure would! PM them to me and I'll see about getting something going.

What made you dump yours?

OK, so I'm bringing this back as the good weather is approaching and I'd like to get my car 100% for summer.
Has anyone heard what we would need to do,fix, replace, etc to make the transmission work right? Since the 2013 is the same core trans but with different gearing and a few other changes (master cylinder, etc), I'm wondering if these steps are anything we can do to out '10-'12 cars?

Does anyone have any contacts that might be able to help with this info?

What part of post #3 and #4 didn't help? You need a new 1st gear, 2nd gear, synchros and all the associated parts. Ford will fix it. Work with Deysha and your dealer. This has been mentioned in many threads on all the GT500 forums.

Very useful post Zimm.
If you read beyond the 4th post or even simply my Sig, you'd know that Ford rebuilt my Trans already and put all new components in, but it is still grinding.

Should change the shifter to an MGW, but I think I've already told you that.

Oh, my bad. I didn't remember that from last November ... Good luck with a fix.

Oh, I fully plan to, but after I'm sure that the issue is resolved. A) I dont think a shifter and even better fluids will fix this and B) I'm not looking to give Ford any reason to void my warranty just yet.

I had the MGW in my '06... Best Mod ever. If I didn't have a trans issue this would have been in the car months ago!

Are we talking about the occasional speed shift grind to second or are you the guy that posted the video of the clutch being held down and couldn't get into second?

I had the 1 to 2 grind. I probably still do. I just have to think about the shift, slow and methodical, pull down and to the left and make sure the clutch is planted on the floor. It's totally different from all my other stangs.

I never posted any videos, but I wouldn't call it occassional.. It's pretty much, if you speed shift, it will grind and not go into second. As discussed, if I plant clutch and lift of gas, then shift, it will go. by which point the nose of the car has dropped and you're down a tenth or two in the run.

I've got some emails to Tremec and hopefully soon to a few other people, but just looking to see if anyone around here has some new news.
