What are the "Must Have Options" for a 2013 Shelby GT500?
I'm trying to sort out what options are really needed on a 2013 Shelby GT500, and what options can I live without, and I don't have much time to do this... The goal is to get the cost of the car down, and to balance that with still ending up with a nice car and one that has some resale appeal.
So far, I'm comfortable with no glass roof, no big shaker radio, and no track-pak.
I'm flipping coins on the electronics package (but don't know much about it), and I am going with the Ricardo Seats.
Color is heading towards black on black, but I'm not sure what the trim options are.
Just to be clear, I may not end up placing an order immediately, but if I do, I'll need to move fast, and I need to get it right!

Your wisdom would be appreciated!

I tried to talk myself out of the TP to save a few thousand, but failed. Fact is, my worthless opinion thinks buying a GT500 without the PP, TP, and Recaros is not doing it justice.

Performance white with black stripes
SVT PP
Track Pack
Recaros
Glass Roof

I'm second on the list at my local dealer. We are going to full out and sign an order sheet next week but they won't submit till the first guy in the list gets his scheduled. And he hasn't put his order in yet.

White, that's surprising. I don't think you ever talked about white.

Thanks for sharing guys.
I'm rather surprised that everybody is gettinh the glass roof?
I had a Calif. Salesman recommend against it.
I would be driving the car mostly in Montana and Alberta, but only in the summer, so sunlight and heat from roof would still be an issue.
Cheers,

It's surprising to me too.

My process went like this...

Already have a black, red, and silver Mustang. Don't want to duplicate colors.

I never cared for the Red Candy on the SHO I had. Just not the color for me.

Never owned a blue car. Just seems like a safe color. But I've never been moved to get a blue car. So DIB is out.

Seriously thought about grabber blue but after seeing it in person...no thanks. Definitely not me. It was darker than I thought.

Ne'er considered sterling grey. Seems like a sleeper color. I kind of want the car to pop.

I really like white and black contrast on cars. And the Shelby has a lot of black. I always liked the white with black stripes 07-09 GTCS. Thought they were super sharp looking.

First two cars I owned were white.

Plus white, silver, red, and black make for a good photo.

To be honest this car will hardly ever get driven. And I have yet to see a person here who has gotten the glass roof and regretted it. Even SoCal people. It's just something I always wanted even before Ford officially had them.

The white with black does look good, but what's with the glass roof with stripes?

Hey guys, I gotta tell you. I never thought of the glass roof as something I would like, but I am changing my tune. When I went to get forum member ecrissman's GT500, I drove it back 165 miles. Over 3.5 hours plus two stops for bathroom breaks. The glass roof in the car was brilliant. Very refreshing, and made the car feel larger and roomier inside. I left the shade open for a while then I pulled the shade. I don't know if I would personally order one, as I LOVE the stripes on the roof. But after driving that car, I would look into an idea for stripes on the roof!! Perforated stripes!!!

I figure the glass with all the black won't be distracting. Kind of like the black 2012 Boss roof on the white car. And the fact that the stripes are missing from the roof don't bother me. I think on a white with black stripe or a black car or any stripe delete car it won't look out of place.

It may not be that way for everyone, but to my eye it's still pleasing and doesn't bother me.

Plus the glass roof, stock blackout panel, license plate trim pieces, headlights, and grill all work best for me
In white.

The glass roof is what makes the car for me. In fact, I'm selling my T-Bucket this spring since the glass roof gives me the feel of an open car without all the hassles of having to climb in and out of the hot rod everywhere I stop.

To be honest this car will hardly ever get driven.
Can't imagine such a thing.

I am in the same boat as jouster. I will have to wait untill I can round up enough money before I can place an order for a 2013 GT500. I want the performance pack, track pack, and recaros and that is it. If I come up with the money , I will go for the Race Red with black stripes. These are the must haves for me.

I will drive it, but I won't feel safe driving it to the grocery store and places like that. Plus I'll still have my daily driver and a couple of other toys I guess.
