Cobra Jet
Cobra Jet
Bit of a Newbie at the forums so not sure if this is in the right section
Anyways, i was watching drag videos of the 2012 Cobra Jets and i was wondering how much horsepower these things are putting out. All i could find was the specs of just the engines without the superchargers on. I know for sure there is a version with a 4.0L supercharger and i think the other is a 2.9L, anybody know what they are rated at in hp and torque?
Thanks

"Both superchargers help the 5.4-liter V8 power out at a National Hot Rod Association-compliant 425 horsepower, though the boosted mills can be tweaked to output hundreds more ponies without much fuss. Owners of the 2010 model year Cobra Jet told us that the TVS unit will cruise through a quarter mile in under 10 seconds, while the Whipple version will cross the finish line in under nine seconds."

If only Ford could produce a street version of the Cobra Jet Mustang. Maybe they could put some of the pieces off the Drag Strip only Cobra Jet on the street version. Heck , they could even offer it with an automatic, something that the GT500 would not have. I dont think it would cost Ford a huge amount to make a street version and charge the appropriate price for making a profit.

Money talks. If Ford Racing can make money, they will sell the parts. Ford Racing sells all the parts so you can make your own Cobrajet for racing. Ford may make the Cobrajet Intake in limited numbers, but they probably will make enough to meet the demand.
