It's listed under Shelby here. Actually the source of the info found it listed under Shelby Convertable.

I'm wondering if you take away the Shelby, is it still a GT500? or is it now an SVT Cobra?
I also like the name GT500 more than the Shelby.

So is that link the sole source for declaring the Package 402A as the California Special package?
I'm a little skeptical because of the way the dealer from gminsidernews stated, "402A Package looks to be return of California Special." Doesn't sound too definitive to me - so I'm hoping for a second source on this.

I know what Shelby used to be, but all it is now is his licensing slapped on a Ford car.
I know why Ford does it. It's the same reason original Shelby GT500's sell for way north of $100,000. Ford's trying to get the nostalgic baby boomers in for the GT500 they did or didn't have back then. The SVT monicker carries far more weight with me. I'd personally choose a car that was SVT over a Shelby. I'd probably even $100 more for it to not have Shelby on it.

Let see...
Shelby logos:
1 trunk
1 Center armrest
SVT logos:
4 rim centercaps
2 door sills
1 air filter inlet
2 valve covers
1 speedo
It's an SVT. Now go buy one.

That's not quite the same.
I realize its a SVT. But its also a SHELBY. Taking the logos off doesn't change that fact.
Just like removing all the badges from my GT, which is also a GT/CS didn't change that fact either.

good lord.
Your GT/CS is a GT with stickers on it. You are just making excuses. Everyone who is a Mustang fan knows the 07-10 car is an SVT Cobra with some logos on it. We all know who designed and built the car. SVT. You just can't mentally get over the fact that it doesn't say "SVT" on the top of the sticker? Excuses.
