Poll:What shifter Combo to Use?

Ok, I'm wondering which one of these three shifters look better to you guys... The Billet shifter is currently in my car but I have both the Black **** and White **** sitting here and waiting for the Retro shift arm. I like shifting with the Billet but I really like the look of the Black **** Retro. What do you guys like better? I wish I had the same angle pic of my Billet like the other two pics but i don't....

I say use the black **** because white is usually reserved for a Hurst shifter.

The white does remind me of the Competition Plus of years past and present! Not sure it would look good in a Red & Black interior but I guess thats a matter of taste. At least whatever I decide its a gravy swap or swap back!!!

I like the billet piece myself. The black seems to get washed out.

Good point. It would get overlooked in my interior but for me thats not a bad thing. Its a tough choice. I may leave well enough along but the real test is when I start pulling gears and see which shifter I can hold better. I ruined my shift hand in a skiing accident more comfort has something to do with my possible swap. Not really sure yet. Thanks for the imput!!!

I've read that from other forums... This car doesn't see much extended sun saturation and if it does it has a windshield shade on it. I've also heard that heat soak from the transmission will get that thing hot also. So far it hasn't done that either but its not 100 degrees out 'yet'!! At least I will have the retro shifter set aside and ready once I learn more about all the 'pro's and con's of this car!!! So far its an absolute blast!!!

Hard call. I think all would look good. i went with the factory.

IMO the factory GT **** looks the best. It's just not unique.

Out of (17) 427R's on Ebay today: 9/w White ****, 7/w Black ****, 1/w Billet ****!!!

I'm starting to really like the factory Billet I have....

I've done alot picture hunting and from what I've seen 90% of all Stage 3's 427R and Backjack's have either the White or Black **** shifters. Its not a common shifter with the higher end Roush cars. I'm glad its in mine but am curious about how the other shifter looks.... At least its an easy swap to see...... Thanks for everybodies imput...

Well Fed Ex made a visit today and in 8 minutes I installed the new Retro shifter arm with the Black ****. Easy swap. I put the white **** on also and for some reason it just didn't match the rest of the interior or my taste for now. So for now its the black ****. I do like how it feels shifting and reverse is much easier with the taller stance. Thats about it for me and mods....Oh and i bought a 14" antenna also to replace that 31" mast that was there. Boy these mods are just wearing me out!!!

I'm sure over time I will decide on my favorite shifter/combo since I don't have many miles on it yet but I love the 5spd!!!! The last time I drove a Hp car with a manual tranny(4spd) was in 1983. It looked like this shifter. Way different from what I have today!!!

Your right!!! I ordered 'another' set of floor mats today. Not your performance purchase but hey, its a purchase... I retired the original floor mats that have the 427R logo stitched into them and have basic black carpeted mats in it now that came with the car. I ordered Black/w Red outline 'Roush Performance' mats for my everyday cruisin!! Over time I will look into a new one piece driveshaft but thats all I have on the plate right now. With my 1970 Plumcrazy GTX I averaged $1400-$1700 on my credit card bills each month for many of the 6 years on 'mods and restored parts. I'm burnt out on buying parts!!!! Glad to just sit back and enjoy everbody else's 'endeavors'!!!

Chris you better dust off those credit cards because once you buy one mod it's like opening pandoras box. It will never end now. LOL

Let the modding begin!

The mods are the therapy! Use the money you would spend on the ever priced head shrinker and use it to get more mods.

I wonder why my therapist hasn't ever come up with that idea?
