Ok, sorry to throw this topic off track but I'm back to touch up spray cans....

First I called Finishmaster and like several of the other times I've called them it isn't nor has been very fun. All they do is paint and when I ask them how much a simple 12oz can of touch up paint costs that is matched to a paint code they act as if they have never heard anybody say that. Anyway after a short discussion and them finding out I'm not a vendor or huge paint distributor they quoted me $20.00 a can. I wonder what the price would have been otherwise?

Boy has that gotten expensive. So at least we know what the price will be....

Now here's what I've come up with on Jarrod's and Pauls, and Chris427 paint codes:

Paul: Vista blue G9/M7147A

Jarrod: Valencia U3/M717BA

Chris: Redfire
G2/M7089A

Jarrod: Here's a 2007 Paint code link. I'm no expert but that is what they called Grabber Orange on this chart. The U3 is the same
, just a different name...

http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorli...arch/search.pl

So if you guys or anybody else still want me to 'try' to pick up a can just say the word. I don't have much choice since I need to paint my hood struts...I'll probably go by there later this week so I can have that as a weekend project.

Thanks for Checking Chris!

Iknow one time bought touch up paint from the dealer. It wasn't that expensive. I wonder if it would pay to check them...

Good idea. I'll make some calls and get back to you guys!!!!!

I can say that Joe Cooper doesn't stock my Redfire Touchup paint cause they said 'it's the same stuff that all the auto parts store sell and its cheaper'. That Duplicolor stuff which I already have. Not sure about 'spray paint' I will inquire....After my Roush Call....

Called the parts department at the ford dealer. All they sell are the little bottle's of Duplicolor touch-up paint. No spray cans..... So we are back to Finishmaster....

Also called Roush on my Pulley. Not real impressed with their answers on HP gains.....Will have to do some more 'research'. They say 15HP gain(1-1 1/2 PSI gain) and I've seen 30-40HP gains on some other forums... Not sure I'd mess with 15HP but 30-40hp would be worth it..... Time to strew abit over this one!!! Any thought from the experts???

Anyway I'm probably going to get my Redfire spray can at Finishmaster later this week. If anybody else wants theirs just speak up. If I didn't have to paint my struts I would probably pass but I must do what I must do!!!

I would try back on FNSWEET. I know there is a guy that is using a pulley that is not the Roush pulley and got some impressive results.

Chris we talked a little about the pulley at the show yesterday,

I thought your car had the upgraded pulley and tune ?

If not what does the 427 stand for ?

From discussions I've had with Roush Tech the 427 is the HP. The tune is the same as the Stage 3 except the 427 came with the off road exhaust which makes up the extra 12HP over the base Stage 3 of 415HP. Both the factory Stage 3 and 427R have the 'standard' pulley. If I were to buy the 73mm pulley and have the PCM flashed to match that pulley then I would be adding 'some amount'(15HP according to the Roush website but the tech said that's abit conservative) to my 427. Mine doesn't have the smaller Roush pulley(yet).

Those numbers are also at the crankshaft and not the rearwheels right? At least that's how I understand it...

Also just for abit of info the 'off road exhaust' comes in the trunk and is installed only after the dealer sells you the car. Only then do they install the exhaust.

The pulley is a 73 mm and should be so labeld on the pulley itself, when you have the upgraded pulley you also get a re-flash for the tuner,

What does the 427 stand for ?

The stock system is at 5lbs of boost (415hp) and the upgrade puts you at 6lbs of boost (430hp)

Roush will soon have out a new CAI for these SCs,

Roush is working on another pulley upgrade and tune,

Roush is also looking into a bigger blower and hearsay is it will fit on ours without major surgery,

There is a speed shop that races Mustangs with the Roushcharger and they have a kit that really produces big power...they only want $1300.00+ for it,

JDM Engineering which does wonders with the Saleen SCs now has a kit for the Roush systems that adds 50HP and 60TQ ,

JDM will be spending more research time on the Roushes,

There are more Roushes out there and they have proven to be very reliable, I think that is part of the reason for the recent upgrades from the different vendors including Roush,

How much power do you want, its out there,

Remember that Roush always low ***** there HP and TQ figures unlike the Saleens, but a dyno will tell you,

As I told you I do have the Roush pulley upgrade...don't know how big the increase is because I never had the regular pulley,

As of now I am going to put it on the dyno before I do anything else...just want to double check that everything is ok...don't know if I will do it here or elsewhere....if I use Chris I want to have Kurtis there also,

I would recommend the same for you,

I feel that the 5 lb and 6 lb Roushchargers with their reliability will produce all the power needed to put a smile on your face....

Most of this SC talk and all the experts on the forum is really about who has the biggest weenie.......since I don't have a weenie ( chewed off by ex's and their attorneys) years ago....I just have fun with the car.
