My friend just bought a 2009 Shelby GT500KR

I posted this under the thread that Brad started on the 09 GT500KR but wasn't sure if anyone would see it.

My friend just bought this 09 Shelby GT500KR from a local dealer that has been sitting on it for 2 years. They were asking $92K when they first got it and he bought it for $60K and it had 38 miles. It is #538 of 700 made for 2009. I got to drive it and it's a great car and sounds awesome. I didn't get it into boost but I could tell that it was ready to run! I'm not sure if it's a great deal or not but he is happy and that's all that really matters.

Rich ~

I think that is a great deal for someone...60k for a very limited production car...and didnt take the big depreciation hit.

Excellent deal your friend got there. He can make some good coin for it if he wishes due to the mileage & condition and the fact it's a KR

Awesome deal and awesome car!

I spent some time at a base in Florida and there was a guy there who's friend was stationed there and was letting him borrow his car for his time there... the car, an 08 King of the Road! It was awesome seeing the car actually get driven. Only one I've ever seen outside of the Shelby factory or a dealer show room.

I talked to a friend of mine that works at that dealership and he told me that the owner lost some money on the deal. It is a very sweet car and especially nice since it's been massaged at the Shelby plant in Las Vegas and is a limited production car. Maybe this is his?

Just an FYI- that same car may bring middle to upper $50's today. It is a great time to buy a KR as they have pretty much bottomed out. Wrecked one's with a title history are going for low $40's. A sale this week for a perfect 2500mile example sold for $49k.
The Red and Vista Blue models will tend to bring a little more due to their limited builds. This will likely be Shelby's last pre-titled Ford Mustang. All Shelby's coming out of Vegas are post-title meaning Mustangs are bought buy the owners and sent to Shelby's for the various conversions.

They are really great cars. Probably the best sounding OEM car ever. At least up until the new GT350R

I had a Red/Silver version, loved it! Had I waited a month for the Black one I would still own it
