Sounds like the punch line to a bad joke.... " New hood, blower pulleys/tune, some badging and poof $60-65,000."

I don't see it, but whatever... I'm not in the market for one anyways

Well atleast ford will be getting some of that extra money that dealers are charging.

since dealers would have been charging more then 65k for the KR.

I wonder how much Carroll Shelby International will make off of each one of these?

Saw a GT500KR listed on E-Bay yesterday. Bidding starts at $90K with a Buy It Now of $130K.

I am not quite sure what you're getting at?
Are you concerned that Shelby won't be getting their fair share?
Or are you thinking that Shelby and Ford should be making the bare minimum in profit in order to sell you a car at the cheapest possible price?

I agree...it just turns my stomach that dealers DEMAND 25K on top of normal MSRP profits, just to do you the honor of taking your money...'market pricing' all that basic economics- sure, I'll go along with that, but only think its right if they split the excess to Ford/Shelby- you know, the folks that actually built a beast worth that kind of profit...

can you just picture the sh*tfit that the dealers would have if Ford DEMANDED an extra 25K on these cars...all that 'supply and demand' economics arguement would be out the window if the shoe was on the other foot. My guess is thats exactly why Ford/Shelby are doing the KR/SS...its only fair they get something for their work...they gotta engineer/manufacture/market/advertise/warranty these things, but aint allowed to ADM the dealers, who will make tenfold profits for shuffling some paperwork...if the cars 'worth' 65K- fine...just give it to those that earned it.

I totally agree with you on this, if the car is TRUELY worth $65,000 than so be it, many customers will be happy to pay that. As a cousin of someone who owns a Ford dealership here in the Northeast and one that has sold nearly 2 dozen GT500's and countless Gt's (3 of which had the heritage paint package and sold for nearly 250,000) it's unfortunate for a customer who would like to purchase a $45,000 Shelby and is willing to do so be shot down by $30,000 ADM's.

I agree that if the car is worth $75,000 (45+30) then that should be the price, end of story. Very soon Shelby will be setting up shop around the country offering various performance and styling packages as an upgrade to a standard 05+ GT which will be 100% documented by Shelby and given a Shelby serial number, so if its the name, badge, serial number, whatever, your better off buying a stock GT for 30K and going that route. just my $.02

Good point. That would place those models on the $80K plus range, that's Z06 / Viper SRT 10 territory and a lot less potential buyers.

+1 It would not be so nice on behalf of the Dealers then. If the KRs are made over by SAI, then they should at least get the profits from it.

Talked to SAI and the SS is looking close to 20k already. They placed me around No. 750 on the List. (Not sure if I shall do it though.) It is not finalized as to the total contents and price, as they are considering altering some of the body panels and adding trim items such as the window scoops and side scoops. So, therefore, if more changes are made, the 28k Package Price is not unrealistic.

Buy It Now: $145.000!!!

Thats a lot of dough for a conversion.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2008-...QQcmdZViewItem

Is Shelby Autos restricted from doing conversions to those who already have a GT500?
