UK meet - Berkshire, February 2010

Hi all

Been a while since I've posted about one of our meets, but as we had such a good turnout, I thought I'd share. A new location for a new year. We had 25 Mustang, 1 Thunderbird and a Lightning truck

And of course, Stan! Stan is our new little mascot. Stan will be visiting a number of Mustang Owner's Club GB members and going on trips and vacations with them. We then show the photos on our forum

You're up early

The pub was great and it'll be the venue for our monthly meets going forward. Nice food, good atmosphere and they don't mind us filling their carpark with Mustangs

I forgot to mention, the white 2010 belongs to one of our leading Mustang specialist, Bill Shepherd Mustang (as you probably know, Ford don't sell the Mustang to us in the UK). David, the Sales Manager, bought the car along for anyone to test drive. Surprisingly, 95% of their sales go to people that have never owned a Mustang before, so it's good to know they're getting them out of their Audis and BMWs.

The vast majority of Mustang owners have not taken to the 2010's looks (although I've loved it from day 1), so the idea yesterday was to give current Mustang owners the chance to drive it without prejudice. I'm happy to report that every single person that drove it, came back with a HUGE smile on their face. Most have also softened to the looks, too. I took it out for a spin too, and was pretty shocked at how refined it was compared to my '05. Despite the 20s, it rode superbly and the interior quality if a match for my 5-series BMW. It also seemed to "flow" down the road beautifully. Don't get me wrong, I love the my '05 and won't be swapping it as it's a lot more "raw" and you have to concentrate when driving it. As a weekend toy, I'm happy with the compromise. Maybe it was also the fact the '10 has an autobox (and a great one at that), but it seemed a more relaxed ride. The '10 is definatley an awesome ride.

I can't wait to try a 2011 5.0 with an extra 100bhp
