Who has had the most problems ?

I doubt I have had the most but I've had quite a few all that I reported to my dealer were covered under warranty. My warranty just expired so I hope there are no more but I kinda doubt it. This is my 5th Mustang over the past 25yrs and I have never had this many problems. Or maybe it didn't bother me so much when I only paid $10,000 for a brand new stripped down Mustang LX. 5.0. Even though I've had all these problems I still like my Mustang and would possibly buy another one. I just feel sorry for the guys that paid $60,000+ for a car with this many problems. It hurt bad enough paying sticker for my car in 2005. Here's a list of my 05's problems,

1.Chrome paint on trim around instrument cluster was dull in places like they didn't get paint all the way around and plastic had a defect in it. Dealer replaced.

2.Plastic levers on back of seats came off. Dealer replaced

3.Gas gauge went out. Dealer replaced fuel sending unit

4.Whirring noise from steering wheel when turning. Dealer replaced rack and pinion unit

5.Water leak on passenger side foot well. Water got in junction box and would cause electrical problems. Dealer replaced junction box and padding under carpet Update :Now the lights don't flash when I lock the doors with the key fob and 2nd button push makes horn chirp twice like a door is not closed when trying to arm the alarm. Mechanic blames it on my sequentials

6.Paint on edged of hood and under hood bubbled, up dealer said due to oxidation of hood . Dealer repainted hood

7.Fog light reflectors hazed up Didn't report it, they would have just replaced them with the same .

8.Clunking noise and loose feeling from front end. Dealer tightened sway bar bolts it works for a little while .

9.Popping noise from suspension when turning. Replaced springs with Eibach, most of the popping went away.

10.Front drivers doors out of alignment edge of door sticks out just a little like the door isn't completely closed. Not repaired

11.Front drivers door handle not retracting all the way. Dealer
replaced and painted handle.

12. Too many rattles to count. Didn't report.

13.Brakes squeaked for first 10,000 miles finally stopped Didn't report.

14.Engine ticking noise when cold and noisy A/C clutch. Dealer said was normal. I guess time will tell.

15. Let me add the gas tank fill problem I just put up with it and I'm tired of taking my car in and my warranty just expired
oh yea shaker 500 just put up with it

Its all about the price point.

Was your car built on Friday the 13th? Or during the Christmas party? Or what? I have none of those problems. The only problem I've had was with a Valet driver. Sorry but when I had my car I looked for any kind of problem I could think of or hear, None came up. In the mean time I've had two rentals, both V6s, one coupe and one vert.... nothing you have gone though... In Missouri we have a lemon law... you might think of checking into that if your state has one and follow through on it.

Mine had a broken valve spring before I even signed anything. I got back from my test drive and a valve spring broke as i was parking it. I was supposed to sign the papers and take my new mustang home. But I had to leave it with the service dept for repairs.

As of 9700 miles, the only problem I've had (knock on wood) is water would get into the parking brake cable and in freezing temperatures, would not fully disengage. The dealership replaced the cable and it's been fine ever since.

i've taken it in thrice.
one for a detailing, two for a warning, three to get it fixed.

TPMS wasn't installed...can you believe that?

my dad said, "see son, that is why no one buys american cars."
i wish i could say something to argue that, but it's my dad...
and i WAS taking in a brand new car for the 3rd time.

Tell him, at least Ford didn't recall several hundred thousand cars in one year. (that I know of...) And... At least I don't need a second morgage for any engine or tranny repair.

Wrong. Ford recalled 792,000 vehicles in 2005 for a cruise control deactivation switch that might burn a vehicle. http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/06/16/for...faq/index.html

You should have said over 1 million.

Just wanted to say thank God I got suckered into the extended warranty...the amount of rental car fees alone that have been paid by the ESP has already exceeded what I paid for it, oh and I'm on a first name basis with the local enterprise crew wow.

- To many rattles to count, right as it drove off the truck, constantly attempting to fix. I blame the rough suspension.
- Fuel tank wouldn't fill properly - replaced.
- Driver seat automatic lumbar broke, replaced.
- They forgot to put the V8 instead of the V6 (j/k)

Other than that, no issues, engine runs great. Unlike some other unamerican companies... *cough* crankshaft *cough*

I was thinking the same thing by #6. Friday the 13th, 4:59 PM

wow.

My 06; 13 months, just the freezing E-brake cable, fixed by TSB in 15 minutes, new cable, in-stock.

My 07; 3 months, nothing. Wiper motor was defective(intermitent setting didn't work) on arrival though, fixed in 15 minutes, new motor, in-stock.

- gear whine - replaced ring & pinion three times
- vibration - replaced entire rear differential
- vibration - replaced driveshaft
- "woob woob" sound- replaced driver's rear axle and bearings
- musty smell from a/c- disinfected (?) air ducts
- creaking from end over speed bumps, dips, etc - not yet fixed
- rattles galore - fixing them on my own
- bubble and tear in clear bra - replaced under warranty (not a Ford problem, but a problem nonetheless).
- squeaky steering wheel - intermittent, waiting for it to get more noticable before taking it in.

Despite all this, I love my car.

Mine just came off of warranty also, and I'm hoping that I don't have any more problems. Here is a list of mine:

struts problem; fixed twice
gear whine
dash lights around headlight switch went dark; fixed three times
squeaks and rattles; my '99 & '02 Mustangs didn't have nearly as many
fuel tank fill up problem
shaker 500 cd skipping
popping lumbar support in driver's seat; fixed twice

I've had many problems, maybe because I bought one of the first ones for the 2005 model year, but it is still a great car nonetheless. I enjoy most every minute driving it, and plan on keeping it for another two years or so.
