Upholstery on bottom front of drivers seat

Curious if anyone else has had the issue of the leather upholstery On the bottom front area of the drivers seat, the upholstery was coming loose... I noticed this yesterday when vacuuming- it was just kind of hanging there. I tried to secure it back in place a few times but was not getting anywhere. It's not something you can see unless you bend down and look, but it's the sort of thing that bugs me to no end.

So on my lunch break I drove down the street to my local auto upholstery shop and asked them to take a look. The guy came out and got down in front of the seat- squeezed, pulled, rolled around for awhile... Changed position and went through the same routine a few more times. Finally he stood up and brushed his hands off, declaring that he would have to take the seat out to fix it. It would cost me $120 and he'd need the car for a day.

"Uh.... Why don't you gimme your card and I'll think about that" I beat it out of there quick. Driving back to work, when I was at a stoplight, I reached down, grasped the leather piece in both hands and pulled it down and around the bottom of the seat. I could feel the plastic edge of the seat with my fingers, and somehow, the whole thing just snapped right back into place- instantly. I felt around the bottom of the seat after I did this, and it was fixed solid- nice and firm, looks good as new. Crazy.

It's always been a problem on my car , the plastic tab just doesn't hold snapped into place for long. If it comes loose again take the seat out and drill a hole through the plastic tab into the seat frame and put a screw in to hold it ...

Mine's always done that too. It doesn't really bother me though, so I just leave it as is.

Mine has been that way for years. I think there was a TSB on it but I haven't ever gotten around to doing anything about it.
