Post TSB 07-18-2 Front Suspension Clunking, Anyone Had It Done & Does It Help?

With Ford's finally issuing the TSB for the chuckle or clunking sounds from the front suspension, Is this the final answer? Does the modification solve the problem? Sounds like they are using some rubber in the new upper mount to isolate the noise.

some info here. http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=69042 They really didn't seem to help my lowered car. Others with stock springs say it did make the clunking go away.

Cool Yes! They Fixed It!!

Yes had it done this last Thursday. They fixed it! Front end now quite like a Lexus! You will love this easy fix by the Ford Dealer with the new TSB 07-18-2 upper mount replacement parts. Took about 1.5 hours for the install. Great Stuff! CalStang is now smooth as Butta!!

clunk

Helped me good. My car was lowered and the problem went away. No more of that noise over bumps. Now if only the rest would go away!

I never noticed clunk before, always thought that's how the car was. But man what a difference with new stunt mounts no more clunk.

Now how about hood flutter TSB Ford.

Had mine done last week. It works great. The quality of the ride is so improved I don't know how they could of released their new flagship in 05 sounding and feeling like it did. Although I'm glad they fixed the problem, shame on them for 3 years of annoyance to all the stang owners with the problem. Wonder if they'll ever get off their butt and produce a TSB for the heaters "floor mode" problem they claim is "normal" operation?

Wow, In case anyone has not heard, TSB 07-18-2 fixes the clunking & thunking of the front suspension!!! Had the work done this morning and it is truly like riding in a different car. The noises are now muffled so it is about 90% quieter than it was before. Now I love my Mustang even more!, Much More!!!

They didn't help me with lowered springs either.....But these sure did there great!! this is how strut mounts should be made!...... off set spherical bearings for street or track with adjustable camber plate........

Is there a mileage/time limit on the TSB? If a car has nearly 40K on it will they still do it?

Phone your local dealers service dept. Give them your mileage and original owners purchase date or I guess the cars build date if you don't know the former. They can tell you if your still covered.
This is one reason I get peaved at Ford for taking so long to produce TSB's. By the time they wait to get enough angry customer complaints, then find a fix, a lot of owners are off warranty.

I bought the Steeda strut mounts when they were on sale, they are definitiely stronger than the stock mounts. The only complaint I have with them is that there isn't a way to adjust caster. I've noticed that the do make some noise.

Does anyone know if the new style rubber isolaters can be purchased separately from the mounts?

Took mine in on Black Friday and got it done. Service Manager questioned that I "diagnosed" this myself. I said I did and left it at that.

I noticed a difference in the ride immediately. Bumps in the road that would have produced a clunk/noise before don't with this change.
