TSB 06-9-9 experience

For the last month, I documented the common hesitation on acceleration after long cruise problem. I printed the documentation of time, place, of the hesitation and the TSB. I drove to Ciener-Woods Ford in Kernersville, NC to get the Mustang serviced. The service manger took my documentation, listened to my story, and checked the vehicle in. He said that he would have to confirm the problem before the repair could be made. Well the confirmation was made rather quickly, just the time to drive it into the service bay . They had to pickup the part from another dealership, after that the repair took an hour. The used the back seat removal method. I will have to wait and see if it returns during my next trip to Florida.

My first service experience besides the inspection. It didn't hurt too much.

PS While there, I chatted with a salesman. They have 3 PJ mustangs, 3 Foose, 2 Steeda, 1 Saleen, 2 Roush 427R, 2 GT-500s, and 1 SGT for sale. One of the Roush 427R was a rare convertible model, very nice indeed! The Foose trailer is there also. The dealership has sold more GT-500s than anyone, except Galpin Ford. They have sold 11 Ford GTs also. It always fun to go to Ciener-Woods, 400 Mustangs are expected Sept. 22 for the car show.

I also took my car in last year for this and the erratic fuel gauge TSB's and so far so good. I was prepared to have to take to several dealers, but was lucky and they repaired under warranty. No questions asked about the mods or scca/contingency/sponsorship stickers all over my car.

My dealership here in Fayetteville Ar did this TSB last year. I told my service writer about the problem, he had parts dept.order the new pump, called when it came in and it was replaced. Both sales and service at Lewis Ford have been very professional. mitch

No luck for me. I called Covert Ford in Austin TX and told them this has happened to me on long drives to Dallas and Houston 3 times in the last 9 months. They said they won't replace the fuel pump unless they experience this problem themselves when I take it in. So in short Covert Ford sucks. Anyone in Austin able to get this TSB taken care of?

They say that on the phone, they say that in person, then they just drive it into the garage.
