Has anyone else had this - when you put it in reverse the engine makes kind of a hissing noise? Actually I'm not sure if its the engine or trans because its all mixed in with the engine noise but the normal tone of the engine changes to a hiss type of noise when I put it in R. Its the V6/Auto combination. I'm not sure what this could be.

 

I just noticed that on my car for the first time yesterday. I was wondering the same thing.

Nope, its fully stock.

 

I have an 06 Auto. No mods. It makes the same noise. It does this in Drive and Reverse.

I have noticed it is much more Hissy when hte RPMs are lower. I don;t know if its a bad thing or not though.

 

same here. Low speed. like if i have just stopped and turning.

 

It is the transmission. The 5R55S has a noisy solenoid pack. It is not a defect and will not cause problems.

 

maybe your noss bottle has a leak?
