Just the nature of cold weather? Does it eventually go away? I'm thinkin' 5-10 minutes isn't enough time to warm it up.

Only in cold weather & still acts up about 15 miles down the road

Hmmm, you got me then. Only thing I can think of is changing fluid, but I can't recommend anything.

I'm thinking if I change I'll use royal purple, I'm satisfied with it in my engine. May as well have it in my transmission.

RP is great oil for these transmissions. Mine had a really balky 2nd from power shifting at the track, wouldn't shift at all over 4k, often locked out or ground in normal driving...changed to RP synchromax, better than new within a half hour of driving...dunno what's in it, but 2 yrs later still great- including 8 or 9 more runs just last week on the rev limiter

It works.
