TPMS error

How long do TPMS sensors usually last? I have an '07 Pony V6. The sensors have been moved from the original wheels to aftermarket wheels. This was last fall. No errors or faults until this Spring when I put them back on my after the Winter. Discount Tire does all of my swapping and this time, a few weeks ago, the error message is coming on every time I start the car. Could they have forgotten to reset the TPMS or are my sensors failing as the age of the car is six years now?

theres a keyfob-like reset tool available, got mine off ebay for like 5 bucks... Mustang TPMS wont tell which tire is 'bad', use the tool to reset and it chirps the horn to confirm setting- wifes car had one dead one.
on her car, I was able to break the bead on the face side, sneak in there and replace the sensor, but its a tight fit for big hands...getting the clips off without breaking while doing it blindly is fun....that was 2 yrs ago and they all still work (hers is 07 also) so original (3) batteries ok so far... I think 6-7 yrs is about it from what Ive read, so they are probably getting close- who knows...

heres the fob- search around, they can be found cheap:

I know this was posted a few months ago, but I thought I would answer to help anyone else having problems.

TPMS will generally last anywhere from 5-8 years. It varies because of different driving conditions and habits.
