Shaker 500 Goes Dead Intermittently

Noticed my radio going almost dead [can barely hear the bass]... It's only done this two or three times over a few months... If I turn it off and back on, it works fine again.

Anyone else have this problem?

Not for a long time. Mine has done it a few times over its 3 years of life. Shutting off the car and restarting always fixes the issue.

Mike, my Shaker 500 wasn't emitting any bass the other day. I turned off the car and and the door speakers were making a thumping noise (like loud static intermittently) and I couldn't make it stop even after cycling the ignition key a few times, starting the car, turning the radio on/off, etc. It ended up draining the battery completely over the weekend! I hooked up a battery charger, but the noise came righit back. I disconnected the battery, pulled the #16 fuse (shaker 500 front amp), and hooked the charger back up - no more noise. Battery is charging overnight now. Anybody have any guesses what is going on? Short circuit in the front amp? I'll have our techs look it over tomorrow if they have time, but I've got a dyno-tune schedule this coming week and the car has to be operable, so I hoping someone has seen (heard) this before.

My shaker 500 intermittantly would not work and one time it was on but sounded all muffled. I took it into my dealer and the radio installer told me that since they have replaced many shaker 500s with problems, they will just replace my radio with a new one even though it worked fine when I had it at the dealer. It only took about 45 minutes for them to replace and the new one works fine so far.
