Rattling inside dash
I am already going to take my o5 coupe back to the dealer to fix some other problems in a few weeks when I have the time, (not major) but until then I have this rattling that is driving me nuts coming from what appears to be behind the passenger air bag panel. Anyone that has taken the dash apart, does this panel just pop right off, it appears to but I don't want to break anything for a little rattle, I just want to check inside to see if I can see anything that is loose because I have had a two of those plastic screws come loose in the trunk and hoping they didn't use that plastic crap behind the dash, the rattle also is noticable when I let the shaker loose...

Yes mine as well...i havnt drove it that much because im in college and my dad has only driven it a few times...and it has like almost 500 miles on it and i notice that rattle too both in the dash and sorda far right corner of passenger upfront area on dash. Has anyone taken this to the dealer and had the solution solved..that would be great help. Thanks
I have heard a sporadic rattle in my dash since the day I bought my 06 GT in September. It does not occur all the time. It does seem to be in the dash, in the middle. I have been planning to take the car in to have it repaired, but I don't want to give it up.
Mine was fixed last Friday! The part number indicates some sort of windshield molding so I'd guess way up forward. I haven't heard a rattle since then, but it's only been a couple days. I'll try to get the part number and post it for everyone.

Thanks radman!! When I take my car in I will post if mine turns out to be the same problem. My rattle seems to be coming from the passenger seat dash and isn't all the time, mostly just highway speeds
I had a rattle when I first got my car in March when it was caold. It went away all summer and I thought it was gone for good. Now that its getting colder its back. Its really bad with the new exhaust seems like the pipes vibrate it even worse.
I may have found the dash rattle that sounds like it's coming from the passanger side air vent...I went looking for mine today...now that the weather is getting colder..mine started rattling more and more..It was driving me nuts :bang: :bang:
Open the glove box.. Push inward on the two sides that are keeping the glove box from swinging all the way down..and let it swing all the way down..Now you can reach up under the dash...Reach your hand over to the very right side of the dash where the very edge of the plastic ends..just about where the two plastic parts clip together...Push very lightly right there..If's it's like mine you will hear a semi loud tick when you push on it..the faster you push the more it becomes like a buzz.. I pushed and unclipped the two parts..pushed again..NO tick..Took it for a test drive with it that way..Guess what no more rattle..clipped it back together pushed again the tick was back...Now I had to find a way to make the tick stop..And belive it or not..I just pushed down on the plastic trim that runs down the front of the door...Mine moved maybe less then a 1/8 of a inch downward..pushed on that spot again up under the dash and the tick was gone..Took it for a test drive again...No more rattle
Test this and see if it works for you!!! I'd like to know...

I'd be interested in knowing what was done, as my dash rattles too.
Can you post the info from the work order? Thanks
Mine also rattles but it is on the driver's side. It also goes away when it warms up. Took it to the dealer last week and they couldn't duplicate the problem-imagine that! When it starts rattling I can put my hand on top of the far left hand side of the dash and the rattle goes away. If someone can get there dealer to fix the problem, could you please elaborate what they did.
Ok, the rattle came back so I did some investigating of my own. Open the door and trace the plastic molding running along the roof down to the front of the door jamb. This molding should be inserted into the molding running up the front of the door jamb. On the passenger side mine was not inserted and was just flapping around. On the drivers side it was inserted correctly. At lunch I popped the roof molding off enough to slide it up so I could fit it inside the door jamb molding and I believe that this has fixed that rattle. Of course, now I can hear something else that's a little more faint. I think I'll tackle this one myself rather than let the dealer handle. FYI, I think the molding the dealer replaced for me was the one that runs along the roof. I'm guessing it was never inserted correctly and started to rattle as things "loosened" up a little. Best of luck to everyone!
Radman,
You are very right..I was just out working on mine again before reading your post
Although mine was never out of place there was a loud tick as you push on it..You may find you still have the same tick if you push lightly on the very outside edge up along the whole edge of that door piece...I was able to fix mine by using some rubber tape that I got from the auto parts store..First drop the glove box down.. reach over and pop out the half oval piece on the very right side of the dash..This will give you some flax... I stuffed the pieces of rubber right inside where the dash and the door pieces meet and with the flax they fit right in when you let them side back into place and they are invisable because they are under the plastic..I just got back from testing mine..Took a 40 mile road trip up in the hills over some very ruff roads..Its good to go
Best of luck with yours
