Exclamation Problems loss of power

Hey my 07 v6 I've had a major loss of power. When I step on the gas the tac will increase to higher rpm's but I'm not getting the speed. Anyone know what this might be? I've cleaned my K&N filter.

Since the car is a manual trans, if you're saying that once you put it into a forward gear and push the acelerator, that the rpm's rise but there is no movement from the vehicle or the movement is greatly reduced, then I would agree with Greywolf regarding the clutch.

How about plugged catalytic converters? That produces a constipated, plugged up feeling resulting in sluggish acceleration since the car can't expel exhaust easily.

I don't think the rpm would climb if your cats were clogged. Or it would climb very slowly. Will your car still do a burn out?

I haven't tried but I have noticed that the traction control hasn't been going on much like it usually does when I take off....

Has anyone had to have theirs replaced? If so what does it run from the dealer?

a dealership will cost you a lot more than a local shop in most cases. Its a pretty straight forward job so you might want to shop around. Just guessing but I would think a dealership would be around 1000.00

Ford wants around 1000 just for the labor, a private shop would be around 550 plus the clutch.

Here's a "free" check, pull your MAF and clean it. I've heard some horror stories of ****ty performance from MAFs that have K&N filter oil on the MAF sensor element.

The car might think the wrong amount of air is entering the engine, causing poor performance vs. RPM.

Did you thoroughly dry your filter after cleaning?
