Oil and Filter

What kind of oil and filter does Ford use on the GTs. I'm going to do the 15k service myself and would like to stick to the same brand and type.

6qts Motorcraft Semi-Synthetic 5W20 oil, 1 FL820S Motorcraft Filter. Easiest car to change oil in that I know of.

Great, thanks for the info. I would have thought they used fully synthetic...

The main advantage to fully synthetic is it's longer intervals. The real good stuff can go for 10,000 to 15,000 miles and really all that holds the good full synthetics are the filters that really need changing.

That said, a happy engine loves happy oil, no reason not to use full synthetic if the price differential isn't atrocious. I got Mobil 1 full synthetic at Wally's for about $22 for 5 quarts (bought 2, 5 quarts and measured 1 qt from the second to get my 6 qts).

For future reference, information for oil requirements, oil and fuel filter numbers, etc., are located in your owners manual for easy look-up.
