I have the Vibration at 65-70 MPH doesn't matter what RPM. It can be felt everwhere sterring wheel, dash, seat, stick, the whole car vibrates.

The dealership just called me and the ford engineer has ordered a Under carrage assembly. What the heck is that? Man I'm really getting mad I don't want a completly rebult car here. I bought a new one.

Anyone have that Cutmer service number for Ford? :bang:

If this car is a stick, get it going 70mph and then throw the clutch in and take your foot off the gas. If you still feel the vib, it's not the driveline. I'm betting on wheel balancing. This is being discussed in a number of posts right now and I really feel the AAI wheel balancer is on the fritz.

What dealership rocket scientist replaces 4 driveshafts without balancing the wheels??

:bang:

If it was tires, it would vibrate at speeds below 65-70, so it is likely something else. Hopefully, the engineer is on to something. If not, maybe they'll replace the car without going through the lemon law proceedings.

Here is a link to info on South Carolinas lemon law. I know in most states the dealership is required to give a flyer on the lemon law at the time of purchase as well.

Good Luck!!

Well I talked to my attorney and Ford. This car is a lemon and Ford is working on getting me a replacements vehicle.

As for my current car it's still in the shop and they have not fixed the issue yet. I say pack it up and send it back to Ford.

Excellent. From what you described the case was pretty clear. Good luck with the new one.

This is great news! You deserve a new car, and it will be a 2006, hopefully with out the cheesy "magic fingers" vibrating option.

I'm happy for you. Would love to know what they eventually find out. Assume it will go back to Ford for inspection

Angry

Well my story gets sadder. They have replaced the tranny one and it didn not fix the problem and the dealership told me they fixed it and I'm nothing short then crazy. They won't even ride in the car me both I called Ford over and over they tell me they back their Dealership.

I even tried taking it to another dealer and they won't even touch the car. During this whole thing the gears broke somehow in the new tranny now I can't shift the car. It is now back at the same dealership waiting on another tranny.

The whole "give me new car thing" was just a stall tactic to get a new tranny in it. At this point I have to go through the Better Business Bureau process before I can officially sue Ford. This was recommended by my attorney.

I have never had such as distrusting issue in my life. I love the look and power of the car but at this point I don't want to give ford the time a day. It's not the fact the car broke it is the attitude and way they are treating me on an obviously broken car.

I have been a Mustang fan for a long time and restored 2 66 classics. This whole ordeal as undermined my Ford loyalty. Count your selves lucky if you got a working 05 Mustang I wish I were sporting one right now. But even after this sad situation is done I'm sticking with restoring classic Stangs and find a dependable car to drive in the meanwhile.

I'm going to repeat myself I'm not telling you guys to sell your cars and abandon Ford just count your blessings this didn't happen to you and that you can enjoy your new car. Good Luck guys Maybe I'll see you at a car show with me sporting an old classic but you won't catch me dead in a new Ford again.

If it was a "stall tactic" look into your local laws. In GA, new vehicles have to be repaired within 30 days (it might be 31 or around there) or the Dealership has to buy it back under lemon laws. A friend bought a new Jeep Liberty CRD and it's auto tranny crapped out at 5K miles. There were no new trannies available, so it sat for a month, and Jeep took it back.

What I meant by the stall tactic comment is they told me I would get a new car at that time. They changed their tune after they got the first tranny in. I'm fighting the legal battle for now. They have no choice but give me a new car or my money back.

They rather drag me through court then make amends. That's fine but I'll win in the end my lawer says it's a open in shut case if we go to court.

Michael,

Just curious, do you know what day your car was produced? Which day of the week?

Well Michael, I understand what you are going thur. I am having major problems with my Stang. I know your feelings and feel for ya. I hope it all works out for you. I am only just begining my process. I have had transmissions problems (got new trans), had radio problems (new Shaker 1000) got all new speakers, and now I am having major elec. problems. The car has left me on the side of the road 3 times now. I am really upset with Ford, I have called every phone number and emailed everyone I can on this matter to NO sucess.

suggestions:

1) have them take a straightedge to the driveshaft to see if its bent. A bad lot of tubing can pull towards the weld seam- a lot...I think around .015-.020 is supposed to be max runout...

2) Ive heard of possible v8/v6 crossmember and rear mounts being accidentally switched at assembly- have them verify part numbers. bad ujoint angles can cause this if driveline not at equal angles on both ends.

3) have them check lateral runout of the wheels- a badly machined rim or axle end could cause wobble.

4) have them check radial runout of the tires- spin them in the air- if theyre out, youll see it. a improperly machined wheel or a bad belt in a tire might cause trouble at certain speeds more than others.

I would sure think they have some kind of frequency counter/vibration meter to find the frequency- fastest way to see if tire/wheel or driveline. if tire/wheel looks ok, have them look at brakedrums/rotors too- this stuff shouldnt be that difficult to find. spin the wheels, spin the brakes, seems to me if the tires balance, there is something with some wobble to it, or a bad ujoint angle to blame.
good luck
