Ya that's what I was thinking too, he said kooks and pypes, I know they are both stainless steel, I wonder if that has anything to do with it? Didn't check my pipe tonight, got home after taking a calc 2 final and engineering physics final and just felt like staying inside. I'll check it out tomorrow.

Did you get your car to the exhaust shop?

No, the weather was too ugly yesterday. I kept her in the garage and spent four hours detailing instead. Haha

Messed with it again today, I really don't think I have a leak. Had my brother over and he helped me to check to see if maybe I had a exhaust manifold gasket leaking or something. We could not find any leak anywhere. I really think it is just "header tick" or just being able to hear the exhaust flowing through the pipes due to the pipe being cheap and thin, possibly the stainless steel attributes to this as well. I will be done with this very soon to confirm this once and for all, stock H will be going back on this week. If it is the pypes x-pipe I will be selling and getting a upr one.

Yeah, I'm with you man. I haven't played with my car much because I just got back from a short vacation to cali and there's a couple inches of snow here, but I'm 95% sure the sound we're hearing is a result of pypes product, not a leak or flaw with our cars. I've been told that it's not necessarily just the thickness (or lack thereof) that lets the sound through but also the design of the X crossover itself that can create funny acoustics as the air flows through and every brand has there own subtle differences in how they construct the crossover.

I'll probably follow you in getting a different brand X or H pipe when it warms up a little bit here. it's 40 degrees in my garage and I don't really want to be underneath my car. haha

I'm gonna wrap the X pipe in header wrap first to see if that makes it go away. Then I'll put the stock H on. But if the does fix it I'm gonna need to sell my boomtubes and get something new, thinking bassani race

Did you get around to wrapping them yet? Any improvement?

Hey guys sorry I was real busy over the holidays. I have been thinking about what to do about it and after thinking a lot I guess I will just put my boomtubes back on so my loud exhaust will mask the sound somewhat. I know it's not leaking so it shouldnt be a big deal. I just dont really want to spend too much more money on this endeavor. I looked at the header wrap and I could get a 2"x 50' roll for like $45 and just do a little before and after the crossover and go over the crossover multiple times. But then I wouldnt be able to go through my regular car wash with the undercarriage spray because its apparently bad on the wrap. And I dont want to spend around $90 to wrap the entire x pipe just to get rid of a little noise I can cover up with louder exhaust. I'm tight on money as of now and cant justify spending it on header wrap. But if you did want to do the wrap I have found multiple other posts that say that it reduces the sound 80%. I'd like to do it but I need to hold on to my money for a while. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
