Have to have fuel sending unit replaced..

Recently my fuel gauge has been acting nutty so I called the dealer and they told me the sending unit is going bad. I'm taking it in to get it replaced (still under warranty) but I've got a question... I have a C&L cold-air intake (no tune option) installed, will this void my warranty if they notice it or should I put the stock system back on before taking it in?

Thanks!

Cold-Air intake has nothing to do with the fuel sender so you should be alright. Especially since the Bullitt car has one.

Thanks, I guess I'd have to worry if I needed engine work done.

If you had a check engine light on, it would be wise to remove it. Any driveability problems in heavy rain or road splash might also be a concern as water injested into a cold air intake without a proper airbox wouldn't be covered. The C&L sits pretty high. The ones that have the filter down low in the bumper/fender area are an accident looking to happen if driven in wet weather.

Took the car to the dealer today, had the unit replaced and all seems good. The only thing is, I noticed when I get in the car now I smell gas.. they had to access the unit via taking out the backseat and replacing it. Is this just a temporary smell that'll dissipate within a day or should I take it back to the dealer??
